cic will just give you the standard answer that file is in queue.

better to order gcms notes. you will actually see the immigration officers notes on your file if any work has been done on the file.

Anyone has idea that how to read GCMS notes. I did for my parents file before few days but I saw the sample of GCMS notes and its hard to read so pls give me advice.

most useful info is at the bottom of notes where you will see comments written by the officer dealing with your file. rest is mostly dates of eligibility and other factual details.

Hi Friends, my mother is sponsored by my sister. Her PR visa should be issued soon(medicals over). My question is, is there any obligation on the part of the sponsor with respect to my mother's residency? The reason is, my sister has now become uninterested in this as mother doesnt want to stay with her but rather with me.But since my sister is the sponsor, what obligations are there on her part with regards to my mothers residency, which I am willing to take up.Could you all let me know-Thanks

There is no residency requirement once your mother arrives. However until your mother has landed your sister has the option of withdrawing from the sponsorship agreement which would result in rejection of your mother's PR application.

However if it is just a matter of not living with your sister once your mother has landed then no problems. Your sister will however for 10 years remain liable financially for your mother in case she claims any benefits.

You cannot now change the sponsor midway through the process. For you to become the sponsor would require the old application to be withdrawn and a new application submitted in 2017 as per the new rules and cap.

Thank so much , ksenya!!!
Here are my thoughts:
May be we should add another column "Started processing" or something like that? In each file we have a date when CIC started processing your application.
I think status "In Process" updates automatically at night based on some criteria & dates in the files for reporting purposes....
What do you think, guys?
CIC started processing my application on December 18, 2015. I'll send a complain to the Immigrations Minister's office late March, if nothing happens in 3 months from that day. Late March will also be 6th month since my AOR.
