2011 (May-November) Parents sponsorship applicants join here

Hi there,
I am also new to this forum and so tired of waiting...I am sponsoring my mother, no dependents.


I paid all the fees and submitted police clearance paper, I don't understand why it takes such a long time...

This year compared to last it has been super slow. I think the refugees have resulted in resources being reallocated from other immigration streams like PGP.

As much as the govt say it does not affect other processing I think the refugee processing has slowed things for PGP.

i sponsor my family from apr 2011 so far i didnt get any sposorship approval. i wants to ask that once i will get the sponsorship approval still i have to show up the income untill my parents will not get the visa or after approval its ok if i wont show up. please give me advice.

Until your parents land in Canada you must maintain income.

Unfortunatelly no... Almost 5 years ago we applied and nothing... Just AOR...

The batch before us that got document request in the summer of 2014, had their sponsorship approved and transferred to visa offices in late 2014 and early 2015. So far not a single person from our batch has received sponsorship approval. The batch before us got faster processing, and the batch after us will be processed faster too - in fact two people on this forum from Jan, 2014 batch had their sponsorship approved and transferred to LVO. We are the unluckiest batch. I guess CIC call centre is right that processing takes 11 months after they receive our documents. I sent mine back in August, 2015, so I won't be surprised if approval comes in July.

Received letter asking for additional document in Sep 2015, and submitted the complete application package in earlier Nov 2015. When do I expect to received AOR? I have followed up with CIC several time but have not received any response yet.

They are busy processing January, 2014, batch. You have to wait.

It says in process in mine. It's been two months in processing, but nothing since then. Now they are putting January, 2014 batch into processing, and two forum members from January, 2014 batch have even received their sponsorship approval and their files have been transferred to LVO. I don't understand why May - Nov, 2011 batch is being bypassed. Not a single person from our batch has received sponsorship approval.

Mine says "In Process" as well, with the "started processing on Dec 31, 2015" line.

Regarding 2014 cases being processed as well, it may be that there are actually not as many cases from May-Nov 2011 and so work on 2014 files has started as well.

From last year I can say from my own experience that while I was asked for documents in Jul 2014 along with other cases from May2010-Apr 2011 my medical request arrived at the end of last year after other people who had applied in 2010 before me even though I had received sponsorship approval before some of them. Many of those people got medical requests around Apr-June last year and almost all have received visas as well.

My point is that processing of your cases will really only start after sponsorship approval as most of the work on the files is done after sponsorship approval like medicals and security checks. Even if someone has received sponsorship approval before you it is no guarantee they will get medicals before you or visa.

At that stage (after file has gone to LVO) you will find most cases being processed in order of date received on original application date. One exception tends to be single parent applications which tend to have faster processing for obvious reasons.
