If there is anyone other than your parents then your file won't go to Ottawa. Ottawa has so far only taken cases involving parents only.

If you have a brother or sister on file then it will go to Dehli.
For some reason they request education documents of dependents and sometimes also all documents you submitted.
DNA is asked if your birth certificates are missing or there is some doubt in mind of visa officer regarding relationship being of genuine family.

Let's see what happens next. Thanks for the information.

You send your documents in sep 2015 and haven't got AOR yet. Is there anyone else on this forum who is in the same boat?

You have to get AOR in 3 months after submission of documents. If it's not happened you should call to CIC. I had the same situation and when I called them and they send me AOR in the same day by email.

Hi Herman85,

No I have not received yet..should I call CIC to check?

Thx

I believe most people with similar timelines as yours have received AOR after submitting the requested documents. For example, I got an AOR via snail mail about a month after my documents were recieved. Maybe call CIC to ensure they mailed it to the right address.

As sponsorship approval is done at CPC Mississagua, this year they may still be busy with the 5000-10000 PGP applications accepted in the 2016 cap.

I think about 14000 applications were submitted this year in the first week of Jan so they may have delayed the sponsorship approvals at Mississagua.

I think the demand to get an application into the 2016 cap was more than in previous 2 years.

The demand will only increase. CIC used to get 20k-25k PGP applications per year they introduced the cap, right? 5k in 2014, another 5k in 2015 and perhaps 10k in 2016, that will still leave 40k-50k unhappy people in Canada.

Totally agree. Also as you said the 20K-25K applications were received throughout the whole year. Now its a mad rush of applications pouring into Mississauga in hours not even days in Jan.

I think if I worked at CPC Mississauga I would plan my vacation in the first 2 weeks of Jan every year because the staff there must have piles and piles of PGP applications to process.
I guess as a result it may have a knock on effect of slowing other things such as the sponsorship approvals for a few weeks.
