Hi Zislam500,

You need to go onto the cic website and you would see a link that says check your status on your right hand side panel. Put your identification number(you would have gotten that with the confirmation/acknowledgement email from CIC) and other details in and you should be to see your status.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Niyati

OK Everyone cross your fingers and do whatever the physical movement you do according to your religion for all of us hearing good news in September! :D

Good morning Everyone!
I just wanted to apologize for not keeping my promise and compiling the spreadsheet of everyone's timelines here! I was going to do it over this long, labor day week end but I got caught up. I will do it ASAP!

Hi,

I'm also a Buffalo June 2011 applicant with arranged employment, which I assume is now at Ottawa

My work permit ends February 2013 and my employer is not planning on applying for LMO.

I will however have 23 months of Canadian work experience come January 2013 so am thinking of getting my application for CEC ready considering I am loosing hope on my current application.

Any idea how long does it take to process a CEC application as I will be returning back to my home country as I will not able to work without a extension on my work permit.

Hi Guys,

Check the post which I just updated to a discussion, I think Ottawa is moving slowly toward us.

Thanks,
Nadeem

The Committee is sympathetic to those with applications in the backlog, some of
whom have been waiting for years to receive a final decision. The oldest and largest
backlog, that comprised of pre-February 2008 Federal Skilled Worker applications, has
been reduced significantly in just over three years. The Committee is satisfied with this
progress and urges the Department to continue processing these files as expeditiously as
possible. We commend the Government for reducing the pre MI-1 backlog by 50%. This
reduction was made two years ahead of schedule.

With regard to backlogs formed under Ministerial Instructions, some witnesses have
suggested that the Government of Canada take all the applications received under
Ministerial Instructions 1 that are in occupations eligible under MI-2 and MI-3 and process
them on a first come, first-served basis. Since the Department learned how to control
intake more successfully under MI-2 and MI-3, backlogs under Ministerial Instructions
should only pose a temporary problem. Others have stated that we can dissolve the
existing backlog by sending applicants a letter informing them that they can withdraw their
application, and receive a refund.36

RECOMMENDATION 3:
The Committee recommends that the Government of Canada evaluate
the different options to deal with the Federal Skilled Worker backlog
put forward by witnesses. The Government should then proceed to act
in a timely manner to implement whichever recommendation(s) are
determined to be the most effective at reducing the backlog in the
Federal Skilled Worker program.

This was in 2006 !

Don't tell me the same guy is making immigration policies now !!!

The same has been published on CIC website now:

I wonder which approach will CIC take!!! Adding more staff to process applications is the last thing they will do IMO.

I think chances of getting PR without job or a job offer in Canada seems to be very slim now. What irritates me is different visa offices have different outcomes!! Applicants in some visa office get MRs etc even if they are under FSW and applicant in other visa offices don't !!

CIC is all over the place now-a-days !!! They really need to pull themselves together and be more transparent, forget about being fair.

hey 2011 applicant, is there any progress moving ahead?, Waiting is letting me down day by day.
anyone got any news plzzzzzz post.

Hi,

Still no progress. Current E-case Status is RBVO.

Don't know when CPP-Ottawa will start working on our files.

Thanks,
Andy

Nothing new for me either, and my timeline is almost identical to Andy's; applied April 2011, RBVO since June 2011 and I am FSW1. Sit back and relax my friends, this is going to take a while. It has been about 1.5 years for me and I expect another full year before PPR.
