Applied in July 2010, resubmitted all the documents April 2015.. Still waiting. Online application status shows "in process" for sponsorship and "application received" for immigration application.. How much longer will it take roughly...? I guess that I am (and also my parents) are patient however we are anxious whether anything would go wrong...

If I understand correctly your sponsership is not approved. Please share your full timeline and what kind of docs they asked in april and when did you submitted.

Hi first gen. This is the letter.

I am now completing the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa. It appears that your children listed below do not meet the definition of a dependant, and thus, do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.
Pursuant to section 2 of the regulations, a dependent child, in respect of a parent, means a child who
(b) is in one of the following situations of dependency, namely,
(i) is less than 22 years of age and not a spouse or common-law partner,
(ii) is 22 years of age or older and has depended substantially on the financial support of a parent since before the age of 22 – or if the child became a spouse or common law partner before the age of 22, since becoming a spouse or common-law partner – and since before the age of 22 or since becoming a spouse or common-law partner, as the case may be, has been a student
(A) continuously enrolled in and attending a post-secondary institution that is accredited by the relevant government authority, and
(B) actively pursuing a course of academic, professional or vocational training on a full-time basis, or
(iii) is 22 years of age or older and has depended substantially on the financial support
of a parent since before the age of 22 and is unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition.
Based on the evidence submitted I am not satisfied that **** meet the above definition because sufficient evidence has not been provided to show continuous enrolment and active pursuit of full-time studies or training since attaining the age of 22 or that they are unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition. I am not satisfied because there is no indication that they have a physical or mental condition and because on the Schedule A: Background / Declaration for *****,he declares having completed his studies in February 2014, at which time he was conferred the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He also declares that from February to August of 2014, doing an Internship at ***** Hospital in Pakistan.
As ****** has declared having completed his studies in February 2014, I am not satisfied that he meets the above definition.
Before a final decision regarding the eligibility of your above children as dependants is made, you are being given thirty (30) days to provide full transcripts for all studies or training from the age of 21 onwards along with any additional information you wish to submit. The information you submit must be sufficient to clearly demonstrate that the above definition is met.

Hi Seddiq,
the "lock in" date for immigration is the date when CIC received the application. So if they received it on X June 2010, this is the date to lock the age of dependent.

What is the critical in the letter is this section "...because on the Schedule A: Background / Declaration for *****,he declares having completed his studies in February 2014, at which time he was conferred the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He also declares that from February to August of 2014, doing an Internship at ***** Hospital in Pakistan.

Basically officer says that after completing Bachelor, applicant went to internship instead of continuing studies. What you need to prove is that: a) internship was integral part of studies; or b) internship was of short term nature (during vacation); c) internship was prerequisite to enter Masters, etc.
I wish you good luck.

I agree with zauber99. If I were you, I would find a good lawyer ASAP and send them more documents pertaining the fact continuous study is legit.

Just an update in my ecas:
today got one line more added in ecas the we started your prossing (date).
first the ecas is just 'in process' put under it just application received on(date)
But still no update of madical results??
Any guess please??

Thanks alot zauber. Yeah internship is mandatory for further studies in medical field. And a prerequisite too to enter masters. On the website of the pakistan medical & dental council its mentioned. If i print the page and send them link will it be enough!?

Better still get a letter from one of the admissions teachers at your college explaining that the internship is a requirement to continue with the masters.
Get the letter on headed college paper and not blank sheet.
Mention your details in letter like full name, date of birth address etc......

Finally some progress this morning...

Now ECAS status has changed from single line to two:

1- We received <NAME> application for permanent residence on December 23, 2010.
2- We started processing <NAME> application on July 29, 2015.

Already done with the upfront medicals.
Let's see how much further time.

I agree too. In subcontinent, you are not given Degree Certificate/License to Practice without doing an internship (called 'residency' here). This is indeed an integral/mandatory part of medical/dental schooling.

To Seddiq,
You can gather some docs from your school proving that your internship was part of your bachelors degree. You can consult with a lawyer as said.
