Hey Guys,

Can anyone please shed advice in my situation. My parents are in India right now. Sponsorship approval was done on Jan 28, 2015 and file was transferred to Ottawa. Like most people here, I am also waiting for medical requests from CIC. It doesn't look like CIC is actively working on parents immigration files and call center agents tells you wait time is 69 months as posted on the website. One can hope to receive medical request after 2-4 months of sponsorship approval or endlessly wait till 69 months without any right to question this delay.

I am not able to decide whether to call parents here on supervisa in the next two months or let them stay in India until they receive sponsorship medical request from CIC.

Suppose, If they arrive here on supervisa and sponsorship medical request comes right after, they would have to go back to India for medicals. My dad has some health issues for which I suspect he may require further specialist testing and could become expensive if done here in Canada, therefore I prefer to get their medicals done in India.

Not 100% sure if supervisa medicals will also work for sponsorship, neither sure if it is possible to have upfront medical for parents sponsorship as I read it is only for certain class of immigration (like spouse) as per this link

Mrs-Vkp--- The last letter you receive from the CIC is the medical request? After that? Nothing at all?

Hi
DMC stands for Detail Marks Card. In India every state education board/University issues Detail Marks Card showing name of student and parents name and also shows subject wise maximum marks and actual marks obtained.Which testify that the particular student has passed the xxxx exam held in xxxx month/year with xxxx marks/division obtained. In other words DMC not only testify the results of he exam of student but also certify that the student is a bonafide student of this board/university. needs DMC to ascertain the eligibility and status of the student with respect to residence and qualification. Rgds

Any idea why educational docs were required when the dependent was below 22 at the time of application?

Btw, Congrats to kkaur84!

Hi nitinbali60. I know one of the forum member had her parents medical done for SUPERVISA. Come time of the medical request for PR while SUPERVISA medical still valid, and when cic was made aware of the fact, they were told to disregard the medical request. That is something similar to your situation should you pursue SUPERVISA & upfront medical for your parents.

As for my own personal experience with my parents, they are currently here in Canada on a regular visitor visa not SUPERVISA. I had them take upfront medical before processing visitor visa extension. They already started the upfront medical since mid march 2015, not yet complete since additional test (cardiologist) for my dad. Early April while still in the process of/waiting to complete this upfront medical for visa extension, we received the medical request for PR. I informed CIC that they are currently doing the upfront medical. Cic emailed to disregard the medical request but just to continue the medicals of the dependents instead.

So yes SUPERVISA medical or upfront medical for visitor visa works for PR too as long as it's not yet expired.

Hi EverythingwillbeOK, yep, Medicals are received by CIC, after that they requested a Military document since my father served in Indian military. Since then waiting game.

I applied for my parents and brother in may 2010
in August 2013 cic asked for additional information we sent that in September 2013
in January 2014 they transferred my file to delhi
But in November 2013 my dad passed away he was principal applicant
i informed them in January 2014 they suggested me to complete some forms to make my mother as principal
Applicant we done that in April 2014
in November 2014 they requested for medical but it was under my dad's name
we done my mother and brother's medical in December 2014 sent the file to delhi.
In April 2015 i got an email about you have met the requirements of eligibility as a sponsor
and your file has been forwarded to visa office delhi and this one is under my mother s name
How long it will take now I m so worried .
could anyone please help me...

I have been checking ECAS everyday and today it changed
1.We received X's application for permanent residence on April 30, 2010.
2.We started processing X's application on April 20, 2015.
3.Medical results have been received.

On average how long does it take for passport request after the application has gone in process? VO is New Delhi.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for your loss. It might be worth sending Delhi a case specific email explaining your situation especially as your mum & brother had already done medicals which would only be requested if you had met the eligibility as a sponsor.
I suspect because the principal applicant has changed from your dad to your mum it may have caused some confusion.

An email explaining all that you said in your post should clear everything and hopefully get you passport requests quickly. The letter you received will have the email id of Delhi office.
Take care.

How do I get the ECAS update ? I would like to get an update / access to my parent file.

The file was traansferred to Ottawa on March 19, and no news after that

I understand that the mdecial request will go to parent directly in India, just hope the post mail is not lost.

Hi Chotis,

Can you please share your timeline?

Hi first_generation,

Thank you for your response to my query. Information you shared and your personal experience is really helpful as it will definitely help us decide and bring my parents here early. I guess the two options we have now are:

1) Have my parents apply for supervisa if the insurance is affordable, this way cic should automatically have record of their medicals. Can anyone please recommend any insurance company?

2) Have my parents apply for regular visit visa from India and also take upfront medicals there before flying to Canada. This way I have to notify CIC about the upfront medical. When going for upfront medical, what should we ask at the doctors office? Upfront medical for parents immigration or Supervisa?

Please advice on the above two options.

Thanks

They have also written in that email
Requirements for medical examination
If your sponsored relative ( s ) have not already done so, your relative ( s ) must provide
an original upfront medical report form ( immi 17uupfront ) signed by a panel physician
or an E - medical upfront medical notification information sheet. Your relatives must
complete the medical examination and once completed, forward this information directly
to the visa office along with a copy of this letter, your application has been transferred
to the visa office noting this deficiency. Your relative must forward the medical information
directly to the visa office to allow continued processing of his / her application. Failure to do so
will result in delays and possible refusal of your relative s application.
But we already sent medical information in last December as I mentioned to you before
So please advise me what should I do .
Thank you so much again.
