When I submitted my doc in mid Oct 2015 I also wrote my Hotmail on form IM0008. I have some question to ask u that:
If CIC sent letter approval via mail, so do they send letter to my home country address or Canada address?

CIC always sent email & any requirement or sponsorship approval is attached in the email you must have received additional documents requirement in a attachment form only. In our case I got email with attachment of additional document in Feb 2015 which we have sent through courier & within week time got approval that too in attachment. Further if you go through prev pages one of forum was told that email sent but on his request they resend the email with approval in form of attachment. Don't waste time of waiting approval either in Canada or parent country ad it will not happened. Better contact CIC tom itself. So far sponsor person col is concerned it will always show app received until decision is made. Your priority is to get approval first. Be fast Wish you success. Byee

Hello Everyone. Just an update, I got acknowledgment email from New Delhi today. Its just the generic email with my father UCI number.File approved in Feb .

If we go through the success rate of approval it is fact that CIC is issuing approval of sponsor within 6 months from the date of actual receipt of additional papers, but that depends upon the priority which has been notice that processing of approval is being taken differently i.e from application to application. First priority i
(1) Single applicant Mother or Father without dependents (2) Both parents with no dependents (3) Parents with dependent. If you gothrough the spreadsheet prepared by Jeleni ji every thing will be clear.

Hi all. A positive news, I received via paper mail Sponsorship Approval today (dated March 31, 2015). Yey!
While early this morning April 9, my dad received email from CIC-Manila for him and all dependents ( another Yey!) though I can only guess it's medical request since the attachments are missing for all of them. I already sent case specific inquiry as per the instruction if no attachment is found in the letter. Anyways, I don't know how long will they reply ... I'm just thankful now that after the SA, even the PR is moving as well...

Anyone has any idea how or the number to contact in CIC-Manila? In my experience trying to contact CIC by phone, all automated answering system, & currently busy advised to call again & automaticy ended the call...

I also got paper mail on the 26th March 2015 that my sponsorship has been approved and now file has been transferred to Colombo office,My question is even for my parents e mail contact i have given my e mail as they do not have one,How will my parents be contacted for medicals and how long will it take to process

Since my parents were to extend their visit visa, i thought of having them take upfrontT medical since i'm expecting the request for PR medical to come soon, which now we received. So we already started their medicals here in Toronto since 3 weeks or so ago though not yet finished.

Now my question, Has anybody's parents been asked for additional test during medical exam? My father is being asked for a cardiologist report which includes several test like echocardiography, resting ecg, exercise ecg, cardiac ecg and nuclear test. They are here in canada on visit visa, I still don't have the exact cost but after checking a few from the Internet those tests costs a fortune! We may end up paying about $5000. Back home he was not asked to do these tests, he had medical before he came here in Dec 2013.

I'm thinking of changing different doctor to see if they will require the same thing... Though I'm not sure if it's a good idea...I just thought I have the option to change, since the current medical exam has not been submitted yet and I can request to just close the file...I know I have to risk him being asked the same test again plus new medical fee cost...Any thoughts?....

The SA was sent to me here in toronto via paper mail. While the MR through my dad's email.

And I just confirmed the MR, my dad received a quick email response from CIC manila regarding missing attachments and they sent right away.
The attachment says they need to do the medical within 30 days and all other requirements to bring along ...

I'm guessing you will receive yours anytime soon....

Received letter from CIC- Mississauga for additional documents to prove relation between Mom & Dad on March 27, 2015 via email (pls note email went to spam folder and luckily i checked the spam folder and found it!!)

sent notarized scanned copy of ration card(translated to english) via email to the officer mentioned on the letter from from CIC on April 2nd, 2015.

Received sponsorship approval via email on April 03, 2015 and file transferred to Ottawa. week after sponsorship approval online status changed to decision made.

Time line-
Sponsorship applied- July 2010
Application received- Aug 30, 2010 (online status)
Additional documents requested- Aug 2014
additional documents sent- Oct 20, 2014
AOR received via regular mail- January 15, 2015 (letter dated 30 Jan-2014)
Sponsorship approval- April 03, 2015 and file sent to Ottawa.
