I have applied for my mom's sponsorship in 2010. My step dad and mom lives separately. They don't have any children and they don't talk to each other. He is living in Dubai and my mom is currently in Canada with me on Supervisa. They have been separated since 2009 and he is already married to another women..

when my mom asked for official divorce; he doesn't want to cooperate. he said he doesn't care.

I selected legally separated in the application and cic is asking:

"you indicate that you are separated from your spouse. If yours is a legal separation, please provide official documentation confirming this. If it is not a legal separation, there will still be a requirement for your spouse to be examined. If this is not possible, you are required to show attempts that you have made to contact him to request that he be examined"

what are my options? since he has changed his phone number and email address.. no way for us to contact him..

any help would be appreciated.

55 days? Thats alot. Its written in the ppr mail that if you dont recieve your passports back within 30 days you should email to your visa office.

Hi thank you, my dad asked VFS they dont know anything about the delay...they told dad if he wish he can put a reminder??? but i guess my dad wasnt ready at that time and wanted to wait untill next week..but it is ridiculous to keep someone's travel document for that long...what if person needs it for an emergency?? i am not sure if its says they will return your passports within 30 days tho, but i will double check..thank you for the info.

I agree with sundusk that 55 days seems a bit too long. contact VFS and see if they know what the delay is and also send a case specific email to Delhi explaining the situation.

Passport request. The mail in which they ask you to submit your passports. Keep us updated and pray for us too

Hi dear forum members,

I have just received the medical exam IMM1017 forms! Finally after a long waiting there is progress again. However I do have two questions

1. I have checked the application status online and both the "Sponsorship" and "Permanent Residence" Application Status are "In process". However I have been reading other member's posts and they also get a "sponsorship approved" status before the medical form. Should I be concerned?

2. How long would it take for the next step (ppr)? I have seen range from 4 to 6 months. Does it sound about right?

Hey we submitted our passports on 24th May to Karachi Vfs and on 20th June got an email that passports have been dispatched . So maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow we will get them inshsAllah. Thankyou and hope you and everyone get done with this process soon Ameen

It is very big problem .. If uh dont tell embassy right now they put misreprebstqtion ban of 2 yrsbon you ... Just fill
New backround A form write u have one tym refual on vistor .
I m goving my father example he applied earlier for vistor visa which is not granted .. Again next year he apply and did kot mention about earlier tefused so emabby put 2 yrs ban oh him not telling truth ... Dint be late just do quick
