Hi, also AFAIK an application doesn't count towards the 1000 occupation cap, or the 20000 total cap, until it is actually approved.

Even if an application was received ON the 26th June for the 2010-2011 year I seriously doubt it could have been approved within 2 weeks. Remember the caps only apply to applications received on or after 26th June.

Certain popular NOC categories will fill up quite quickly I'd imagine, since categories which were already in last year's list people may have the docs ready before 26th June so they could send right away.

But the new categories people have to get PCCs, IELTS, proof of funds, notarized contracts of employment and letters as proof of work experience. All this will take several weeks.

We won't be in a position to send our application until after my wife has her IELTS test on 5th August, then has to wait for the results to come through. So we're probably looking at 15th August or so to submit our application. But since we are applying under one of the new NOC categories I would doubt the 1000 cap would be hit, and I'd think we'd be unlucky (although ofc it's not impossible) for the 20000 cap to be hit at that point as well.

Wayne.
