I wonder why none of 2005 applicants have gotten update request by june,2011... what could be the delay.this is frustrating......

Nice to see the interest of 2004/2005 applicants on this forum. As mentioned by IG the other forum has been taken over by the fast-track guys. Just like others, I just prefer to read other applicants' response rather than keep commenting as some of the issue mentioned there isn't align with my 2005 application. Let's keep this forum alive and trust IG can make it happen.

I hereby toast to the revival of this thread.

I guess the reason for accra not contacting 2005 and co is because of the cut in the numbers of FSW required for 2011 quota. Aside that, they are prioritising the post june 26 guys cos their skills are needed in canada at the moment. I honestly dont think any 2005 applicant will get update request earlier than 4th qtr of this year and that's even being optimistic.

So brace up guys.

Means that the 85months in CIC website will no longer
be met by them because some of us are well above 73months.

I believe so. The timeline is for usually an average figure for the preceding year. Do the maths, from update request to PPR is at best 16 months in normal circumstances. Some even say 24 months). I believe the timeline will change in the new year which is November, as I was told.

But what/how/when ever, we will get there.

What are you guys waiting for since 2004/05? Skilled worker PR? It takes that long? Wow. In Europe and America it takes 2 years or less... I see discrimination here.

How sure you are with this analysis...if that should be the case, cic is unfair to old applicants.Sad as it appears, I would advise you apply again if your NOC is on the current list to down your waiting period. It can be very painful waiting a long time to obtain your dream.

I was trying to analyse based on deep thoughts about it; I may be wrong but I honestly dont think I am. Not trying to discourage anyone as well but just so we are realistic about the situation.

Maybe cic is not fair to old applicants, but as the saying goes, "Life is not fair" otherwise we will all be born with equal skills, intelligence, wealth etc.

@Jihems, I feel you and it is very painful when you see people that applied in say year 2009/2010 getting their PR issued while we that applied in year 2004/2005 is being treated unfairly. We just have to keep the hope alive and engage in some other things so we dont end up waiting for this PR stuff without adding value to our lives.

@MOT, looking at the timeline do you think/suggest one update his or her record with CIC Accra. Like in my case I have applied for my CAIPS note and am of the view that in order to have my file up to date I should just go ahead and provide latest information most especially since I changed job sometime in year 2007.
