am surprised that some applicants are not called more than 6 months after the medical. i tot the usual saying is that one will be in Canada within six months after medical

I think why we experiencing a delay with accra and some other posts is due to the Global Case Management System (GCMS) which is a Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC's) electronic business platform. It is integral to making the citizenship and immigration system more modern, efficient, flexible and responsive to Canada's labour market. It is essential to improving citizenship and immigration services, maintaining program integrity and strengthening the security of Canada.

GCMS deployment at all the missions started in June 2010 and is scheduled to be completed by March 2011. It is replacing a 10 years old CAIPS system. If GCMS is deployed to Accra before March 2011, things will start taking shape, i hope so.

There's no new info about 2005 applicants. Those who were asked for updates recently were late 2004 applicants. So u should be looking at next year. The wait has been exceedingly tiring for everyone...but no one should give up.

March 2011 is not too late. The request for update from Accra may be anytime from February as there is going to be a flurry of activities in January 2011 as many applicants who have concluded their medicals have been on hold for a while. So the March date can be easily accommodated.
