Error is human, I need to inform and share my experience with you. CHC accra can make mistakes!
My email address was mis-spelt. They sent documents update to a wrong email address, but they got it right when requesting for medicals. Thanks to God that i used my business id as an alternative email address, they sent a copy to my business id address but the one they sent to my personal email address never arrived. If not because of the alternative email, i could have missed the opportunity.

So, if you think it's been so long you heard from CHC, Pls get accross to them by specific case enquiry. You never can tell, they might have sent you a mail, and mis-spelt your id like mine but never arrived.

Hello seg,

Pls what specific documents did they ask for update. What's the validity period for IELTS result?

cheers!

Yes I am new to this forum. I am an applicant for Canadian PR. Application was sent to Accra in May, 2004. Kept in limbo for over 5 and half years. Already almost gave up hope and then in Dec 2009 got a mail from Accra to update records etc. Things have been on a fast pace since then. My family and I just concluded our medicals (in April and then July for the new baby) and hope to get the visas soon by God's grace. I hope this summary will rekindle some hope in those who have been waiting for a long long time!

Hi iii,

Goodnews and goodluck.

All previous forms I filled in 2004 were refilled and updated where necessary (I hope u still have ur old information intact). They are:
Application for Permanent Residence in Canada [IMM 0008], the Schedule 1: Background/Declaration [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 1], Additional Family Information form [IMM 5406] and Schedule 3: Economic Classes [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 3].

Updated changes in family configuration with supporting documentation e.g birth certificates, marriage cert. etc

Proof of funds (bank statements from the past 12 months)

4 passport-sized photos per family member.

Copies of the photo pages from valid international passports for all family members.

Updated police certificates.

Every photocopied document was notarized like before.

That's essentially all.

Hi iii,

I have all the copies with my agent.I recently visited the office in May and went through my file to know where to start the update from.A colleague of mine told me the office is closed,am about sending a cancellation of rep to Accra or what do you suggest?

Ig

Ig,

Of course if ur agent has closed shop u have to inform Accra immediately. Its in their website.

I copied the following from Accra's website:

'Updating an application for permanent residence

If you already have an application at our office for a permanent resident visa you must inform us:

Immediately:

change of address, including change of e-mail address
request for withdrawal of your application
change of immigration representative

After you have received your file number (letter B followed by 9 digits):

birth, adoption, death, marriage, or divorce that changes information provided in your application.'

If ur mails are routed through his or her address u have to change that also and inform Accra.

Whenever the request for update comes, I believe whatever information u fill in should not conflict with the previous ones.

Hope this helps.

Thanks iii,

Have done all the ground work already.I will send to Accra this week by his grace.Nice week
