2 months 2 weeks since passport has been sent to new delhi

hi guys
i am fariza,
new delhi started my process on jan 12th 2010, got ppr on jan 18th, sent pp on jan 21st.
they requested additional documents on feb 3rd, letter for which i got on feb 10th, sent the additional documents ( post marriage outing pics and hubby's passport copies) on feb 12th...
till now no news from chc,
sent a mail enquiry
got a generic reply saying doing bc check and medical..
anybody with a similar situation/whose passport has been stuck with chc nd plz reply.. others can reply too, and send yur suggestions, or answers plzzzzzzzzz...

I heard it take 4-8 weeks once they receive the passport.. Did you not submitted a wedding pictures with application?
I am just wondering why they asked you pictures now....

actually v did a register marriage first, as ther wuz a family tragedy close to actual wedding dates, then kept a reception later on, did send them reception pics, and v didn go for honeymoon, so they asked post marriage outing pics.. i ve read elsewher in this forum, a couple of others who got their passport after 2 months of wait, jus hoping i get it sometime soon too.. they ve not asked for anything else after tht.. its so frustrating!!!

Hello Fariza,

We are kind of in the same situation as yourself. Its been 3 months exact since we have been waiting for reply from CHC New Delhi. My husband's file was transfered on Jan 5th and passport was requested on Jan 6th. We sent an e-mail inquiry once in between and got the same general reply as yourself, in process for final checkings, this was in early feb. Since then myself and my husband have been waiting. I can surely imagine what you are going through with out ur spouse. And I am also sure he is eager to see you there. From past posts, everyone has just said be paitient and wait. And I would advice you the same.

If you don't mind, could you please share when was it that you had innitially submitted your papers and timeline.

thanks for replying.. here is my timeline
sponsorship application sent to chc-m-dec 7th 2009
sponsor application approved on jan 4th 2010
pr application started processing in ND ON JAN12TH 2010
ppr letter dated jan 13th, reached me on jan 18th
pp sent on jan 21th
request for additional documents letter dated on feb 3rd, reached me on feb 10th
documents sent on feb 12th..
since then no news!!!!!!!!!
the reply they sent to my mail saying they r doin background check which outside agencies r handling doesn frankly imply in my case, as i ve no history of foreign travel, i ve not even gone out of my state!!!!
so they basically send these generic mails to our queries, so tht v shut up...
i really dunno wot they r doin with my empty passport!!!!!!

this whole visa procedure is patience testing!!!!!! i am hoping v should get it this month if ours is the same situation!!!!! ve yu got any idea as to max how long ve they held passports with them?
i did some reseacrh, and jus a few of them got it after 2 .5 months, nobody's beyond tht... plz share yur info, and timeline..

if its 3 months since yur passport is with them , then it should come in one of these weeks, did yu ve any history of foreign travel?
also no 2 cases r same.. the only way i think to get out this torture is get busy with something..
ther is no point sending them e mails.. they ll only reply with a generic mail..
i hope v get them soon!!!!!!!!!

I am wishing just the same here Fariza

My husband and I got married in October. (love marriage) Being a Canadian Citizen I applied while I am here in India living with him.

Sent Docs to CIC Miss Nov 20th
Sponsorship Approved Dec 15th
Docs transfered to CHC ND Jan 5th (I think that there was a huge delay in the transfere due to Christmas and New Year Holidays, I might also be wrong)
PP Requested dated Jan 6th, receieved Jan 9th
Sent PP Jan 11th
And since then, we have been waiting. In between that we travelled with family and friends here and there and finishing up all the relative's dinners and all And ofcourse....waiting waiting and waiting

As far as how long ND can keep our passport....

as per as www.india.gc.ca

Once our case starts processing in ND, they have 6 months max to make a decision on our case as spousal cases are given the most priority.

hey giti, even i got married in oct!!!!!!! it wuz arranged, first, but later completely love!!!! sad tht v ve to wait .. jus wanna start of life together... hopefully, soon... the thing is no 2 cases r same.. v jus cant predict.. other than waiting nothing much to do.. ;(

wot news at yur end? posting my timeline-
chc-m- SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL- JAN 4TH 2010
CHC ND started processing on jan 12th 2010
ppr request-jan 19th
ppr receievdat ND- jan 21st
requested for additional docs-feb 3rd
(letter received only on feb 10th)
additional docs sent on -feb 12th
received pp with visa on -april 19th ...
total processing time from start to end- 4 months and 12 days
total processing time in new delhi-3 months and 7 days..

1. What does your current e-cas show?
2. What is the issue date that is on your visa?

We checked our e-cas today and it still shows in process. Please if possible do answer these questions for me and my husband.
