Hello,
I am doing some research for my fiancé. I will lay out the facts we currently have below.
Fiancé's mother born in Canada 1959. Moved to N.Ireland aged 13
Her father was Canadian and her mother Irish
She has previously had both Canadian and British passports.
Never returned to Canada and has lived in N.Ireland since age 13
Does this mean that my Fiancé can apply for Candian citizenship as a 1st generation? Or is he even already classed as a citizen and he can apply straight away for a certificate?
My fiancé is now 33 not sure if there was a time frame.
Any help on this would be most welcome. I have scanned through some threads and it seems they are mostly from 2nd gen people.
Thank you
Deborah
