1950 Hours or 1 yr??

Can anyone please tell is there any total number of hours condition applied in CEC??

like -
1 yr work (e.g Jan14,2012 -Jan14,2013) includes 30plus hrs/week : should it be equals to OR more than 1950hrs in total..????

It's a combination of both - you can't do 60 hours a week and apply after 6 months and you can't do 18 months experience with 10hours a week.

But i am concerning here that the total number of hours in one year must be atleast 1950 or more.. not lesser than 1950.

You're an IT guy and so bad with numbers hahaha

Anyway, basically you need 52 weeks of work experience. They consider 30 hours a week as '1 week of experience'. However, note that that's also the max. So if you work 100 hours in 1 week, it still only counts for 1 week.

If you work 15 hours a week, it means you need to work for 2 years to gather the experience needed.

Does that make sense?

Oh , and 52 weeks X 30 hours = 1560 hours. I am not sure where your '1950' comes from. Also read here : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/cec.asp

To apply for permanent resident status through the CEC, you need at least one year of full-time experience (or the equivalent in part-time work) as a skilled worker in Canada. Full-time work means at least 30 hours per week. The one-year work experience must have been obtained within the three years preceding the date your CEC application is received.

Thats what I was wondering..........1950hrs??? From where he got that number??
Anyways, its 30hrs/week.....so for 52 weeks its 1560hrs in all.

1950 is the Previous year Requirement before the rules got changed from Jan 02 2013

37.5*52=1950.

But for now its 30*52=1560

I agree! That's the minimum, 1 year and 1560hrs.
