I wonder there must be someone who have submitted their WP extension application based on the 18-month public policy when their PGWP is actually expiring in early January 2024.

Are you one of them? Have you got any update from IRCC?

I submitted my application on December 31, 2023, and I have already got an update from IRCC. They are moving super fast since there is almost no Study Permit applications that need to be processed at the moment.

No. It’s not approved. I’m being asked additional documents for processing.

You have to find a new reason to extend now. 18 months is no longer an option.

It was 4 months when I submitted. Now it shows 106 days, but they have given an update in just one month for me.

They have a lot of capacity now free up from SPs. EE processing is also in a record speed now.

No, I don't think they will approve it.

The chance of approval in error is slim. But you might have a bit of chance if you meet an officer with some empathy.
If the WP is expired 7 days earlier, then you would be qualified.

No, they are not. IRCC has announced that there will be no further extensions.
