18-month extension when not eligible

I wonder there must be someone who have submitted their WP extension application based on the 18-month public policy when their PGWP is actually expiring in early January 2024.

Are you one of them? Have you got any update from IRCC?

I submitted my application on December 31, 2023, and I have already got an update from IRCC. They are moving super fast since there is almost no Study Permit applications that need to be processed at the moment.

It was 4 months when I submitted. Now it shows 106 days, but they have given an update in just one month for me.

They have a lot of capacity now free up from SPs. EE processing is also in a record speed now.

Can anyone let me know IRCC extending the open work permit (i.e, based out of PGWP) which are expiring in 2024 ? because I didn't hear any publicly announced about PGWP extension. Kindly, help me on the question.

No, they are not. IRCC has announced that there will be no further extensions.
