I got my results today (GT test was on 8/5/2010), L=9.0 R=9.0 W=7.0 S=8.0, overall=8.5. I needed 10 points to reach 67, glad to have those extra points.
Some tips
* Practice a lot, I used Cambridge IELTS 5, 6 & 7 for about 2 or 3 weeks (all are available free in these forums and on Google). Always time the practice tests just like the actual one
* The academic reading and writing is much tougher than the GT ones, especially the reading test, academic reading has three long sections to be completed in one hour. GT reading is much simpler, keep this in mind if you are planning to appear for academic because of lack of dates for GT. If you need 14 or 16 points you are better off taking the GT than the academic test
* If you are new to British accent, listen to the tapes over and over till you can follow everything word for word
Thanks to all for sharing their experiences and tips. All the best!
