People feeling a bit down, Here is some comparison that is hopeful and a couple of questions:

CIC announced few days ago that the Federal Immigrant Investor Program is now closed as 700 complete applications have been received at their Centralized Intake Office.

I just cant seem to understand that why another department of CIO (processing 1122) could be running so behind i.e. 7th July's application update on 27th? Is there any reason for that i don't know of? How is that Investor program application any simpler than the 1122 FS intake, which may explain that CIC haven't yet got to all 500 applications that people claim they may have already received ? I want to be realistic and need people to share their views.

As well the point where a chap mentioned that CC applications are faster than BD. Aren't BDs a guaranteed and assured mode of CAD payment and that it cant be cancelled without the original DD returned. Wont the CIC prefer that mode of payment against CC. If not, I am sure it is at least at the same level as a credit card mode of payment.

Your views are welcome!

Thanks,

Hello,

We had also sent application last year. But as there were many changes in the rules and the IELTS thing, we could only make it on October 28. The CAP was closed just a day before our application reached, as per the letter we received from the CIC stating why our application was being sent back. There are too many view, much appreciated, in this forum. But it is still unbelievable that CIC is processing applications as of July 7 till now. As they have written, TOTAL NUMBER OF COMPLETE APPLICATIONS AS OF JULY 29, so we should go by the statement they are making, which means as of the given date. Now it is impossible to predict, whether my application, that reached on July 26 is within the CAP or not. None of us can predict the status, can we? But apparently, if we go by the statement, it seems that the total number of applications received on July 29 could be any figure, but the number of COMPLETE applications, which is post completeness check is 259. It could also mean that the number of applications received till July 28 have made it to the CAP, if of course those were complete in the sense CIC believes it to be.

This is just an opinion. Feel free to share your views.

My application was also recieved on July 6th......just hoping to see the money being taken...:)

I am taking the CIC updates at face value. If your application package was complete, and it was received by CIC on or before 29 July, you are among the 259. Expect charges on your ccard soon, and see you all in Canada next year.

My point of view solely. The statement on the web site clearly reads the number of complete applications received is 259. That means that 259 applications have passed the sanity check for completeness. Let's just agree on that, since it is CIC statement.

What it does not mean is how many applications are actually received. It can be 259 or 2590 and CIC is slowely but surelly checking them based on the day and time of arrival.

The only thing that I can not get is if the number of applications is thousands then why CIC is so slow on processing them. The only answer that I have is that they put those applications thru a real hard-core test even at this stage to minimize rejection ratio later on, which causes such a delay to the process.

This is my view and it is entirely based on my assumptions.

Heads up!

You are Calgary-bound right? I'll be in Toronto. Download the How Canadian Are You app on your iPhone or Android phone. Play and learn. The info bits will come in handy when we all settle in next year.

Start preparing your application for next year guys..........
I think we missed the bus this year

It's too early to call, Ravi. In any case, let us keep this forum alive to share information on arranged employment opportunities. That way, we don't have to wait another year. :D

Why can't you try applying in the FSW2 category where there is no CAP restriction? Or may be find an employer and get a work permit. May be senior members on this forum like Qorax and others have a good idea about consultants in Canada since they have already landed in canada and they may have a better picture of the prospects and so on.. I know its hard to find an employer but not impossible. You never know but CIC may not include 1122 next year or they may reduce the number to just 250.

Arranged employment option is not that easy.
Neways if anyone has some idea please share

Hi,

I just got eligible with my experience to apply under 1122 Canada... I believe this time i can't apply because till now i have not send my application... it will be ready only by this September 15th.

Advice me.. Should i send my applications now (Sep 15th) or wait for next year when next cap opens.

If i Send now, Does this make any problem in future?

You are right about it not being easy. But it is possible. And is encouraged by the federal government. That is the reason why they reduced the cap to 500 per each eligible occupation this year... so that those with genuine job offers take priority.

CIC will not accept any more applications in excess of the cap for each NOC. So, if by Sept 15 the cap for 1122 has been reached (almost certainly it would have been reached), there is no point sending an application pack. It will just be returned to you.

Everything you need to know is in the CIC website www.cic.gc.ca . I suggest you subscribe to their updates via the media centre. I also suggest you start looking up job opportunities as early as now. If you are lucky enough to land an LMO-compliant job offer, you will be in Canada faster than you can say happy new year 2012. ;D
