I m willing to support anything that will help qualified CEC candidates be eligible for a PR status in Canada. I believe there are already polling and many other propositions send to CIC through individuals,media and so on.

My biggest concern is Atlantic Canada and Northern Canada, which has employment and has a scope to contribute for Canda's economic development, but is being affected a lot through the new immigration system. Politicians and CIC should really do something to support these communities. They are also a part of Canada ,I do know that the Canadian govt. contributes economically to these communities,but just money will not change the scenario, they need people to support their economy.

we need to fight the stereotype of the immigrant as the welfare leech and an individual who takes advantage of canadian system. Many Canadians don't know that indeed there are already protective measures in place making an immigrant a second choice. By presenting stats and appealing to economic factors, rather than simply putting that we have ties here and the immigration system is not fair, I think some impact could be done.

plus, more petitions/attention to the problem would make it easier the issue to get noticed.

Buddy I just feel like laughing when u say its the govt. ruining the economy, but u really cant blame the govt. too, its election time and they will do everything to get voters(check out the weird ad campaigns on air). On the other hand most of the Canadian population expects a change to happen. If Media and politics says Immigrants are stealing Canadian jobs, then thats what most of the average population will believe (An average Canadian is mostly unaware of the real facts and figures, when politicians and media comes out with some facts and figures, they mostly believe that).

that's exactly why it's a good enough moment to make a push, can you imagine the twisted headline "concervative party destroys educational system and will put heavier burden of OSAP loans on Canadians"
and then it will be how international students who are assisting in paying citizen's tuition do not want to come to Canada anymore due to the change in policy
it's all about the headlines, votets and media will be highly sensitive to this information

Ur correct abt the future stress for Canadians to attain OSAP loans (this will only happen if international students to Canada drops), the new EE system is kind of discouraging future student,but not totally (as long as they have CEC and FSW in place,this will still give students some fake hope)

I don't think we will see this kind of headline (pretty strong),unless the people in the media understand the real problems behind the new EE. Moreover, no media will blame the ruling govt. this openly during elections unless they have good facts and figures.

On the other hand if u are in Media,this is also quite possible to happen

The only one who has the real facts and figures are CIC.

I don't think any kind of real facts and figures will become available,unless they are really stressed by Media. Will this happen before elections,that's a huge question to ask.

In the same boat as yours. At 454, will wait for another week if draw does not happen this Friday.
Somehow CIC looks fixated on 453 but it depends on number of invitations.

3 weeks and 1500+ ITAs seems to be forming a pattern..
