Hi,

I'd appreciate if anyone could help me with this question. I'll be completing my three years physical presence in Canada around one month earlier than my wife and kids. They travelled to the United States for visiting relatives. So can we all apply together as soon as I complete my three years physically based on fact that I am principal application under FSWP or we should wait or apply separately? I am asking this to be able to apply before new law comes in to effect. I'll complete three year physically in Dec 2014.

Thanks,

Faisal.

Since you are only eligible to apply in Dec,2014 and mostly likely you may fall under new law unless some unprecedented delay causes to the new bill.. So, there is nothing to be advised at this point of time.. Just wait and see what happens with the new law. You only can decide in Dec, 2014..

1. As advised you will need to see what Citizenship Act will be in place at the date of application.

2. On the presumption that the current position where minors do not need to meet the residence requirements carries over then you can include your minor children on your application. Sorry your spouse can't piggy back on your application to make up for a shortfall in days so they should make an application when they meet the residence requirements.

3. You (adults) should apply separate so if there is a hold up for any reason the other person doesn't get impacted.
