Hi all,
I am a Canadian resident- with a question about my South African boyfriend's 1yr multi-entry visa. My boyfriend lived in Canada for just short of 6 months before returning home (he's been out of the country for almost 4 months).
He is currently considering returning to Canada prior to the expiring date of the visa before we go abroad together to teach English. The question might be a bit silly- the CIC website states under multi-entry "A multiple entry visa allows visitors to come and go from Canada for six months at a time, without having to reapply each time. It can be valid for up to 10 years, or one month before your passport expires, whichever is earlier. You must arrive in Canada on or before the expiry date on your visa."
I understand that it is up to the border officer to decide the duration of your stay upon entry- but will the fact that he has been in Canada for almost 6 months already hinder him staying on a repeat visit in such a short time frame?
Thanks in advance for any help!
