Hi All,

I have given GT IELTS 5 times but unable to get the desired score 8777. Moreover, there is o news for CRS draw for outlanders. So I am willinh to invest in study Visa. I have masters equivalency in ECA.

Question:
I have only 47% in graduation and 6.2 cgpa in MBA thru distance mode from Amity university. Is there a chance to get 1 year study visa in public college? I have my sibling who is PR in Ontario but I am flexible with other provinces too. Please suggest.

The course you choose should show career progression. This will improve your chances.

You already have masters, chances are slim. Moreover, you have a sibling with PR in Canada which will raise concerns. You are a clear potential immigrant.

Also, 1-year program gives you 1-year PGWP. It is hard to nail a PR within this time frame.

Is there any problem with my bachelors low grades?
Also, in case my study visa refused. Will there be any issue in express entry?

What CRS point range are you in if you get 8777 in IELTS ? 450 to 470 ?

Your bachelor can have issues but you have shown progression in your MBA

If I score 8777 my crs would be above 480. But i'm already hopeless by giving 5 attempts. My recent score is LRWS - 7,6.5,6.5,7.5 Respectively. Moreover, IRCC is not even announcing draws for outlanders. I'm already 29.

Trust me student pathway is not easy. Given that you already have soo many advantages at your hand. You can directly nail PR with such a profile without a student pathway.

Your only issue is IELTS. Invest your best on this and sure you can do it.

I would recommend you to take the paid version of Chris (IELTS advantage). I was able to score 8 bands in writing.

And don't worry, FSW draws will start soon. Once the travel ban is lifted you will see them happening.

I understand, but people who got ITAs are not even getting positive news from IRCC, so govt. Will give priority to these applicants. Bcz of the huge backlogs, they have increase the timline for processing. That is the only reason I thought to invest in study visa. Bcz i dont have to lend loan from bank. Completely confused.

You will not be investing in study visa - it only costs $150. What you will be investing in, is tuition fees, which can be quite a lot. Also, you will get a better chance of being approved if you do NOT apply for a college program after Masters.

I also think you should go for PR or PNP(OINP). IELTS can be cracked, get a tutor. It will not cost much. Potential 480 is a decent score but yes even this also might fall short because once FSW starts the cut-off will be high and it will slowly drop back. I suggest start researching another masters or 2 year college in line with study permit filters. Most important is to be strong and positive, otherwise IELTS is very difficult to crack. Good luck!

You mean if I chose to study any 1 year program in Canada will create hurdle in future when apply for PR? If so, then how? What I calculated in crs is if I select canadian education along wid 1 yr canadian work exp. it is boosting my score. Please advise.

I had taken coaching thrice. Totaly wasted my money. Two times offline coaching and one month from Ielts ninja.
If there was no covid, I would have given further attempts in the hope of gettin ITA in the upcomin draws. But since everything is stuck in the middle. Even I cant plan to get married as im nw 29. So lot of thoughts are around.

Also, is 1 yr program not sufficient since i hv indian masters? I jus want to pursue 1 yr program followed by an year of exp.

Hmm, it looks like IELTS is a big hurdle here. But looking at your previous score its possible to hit the bands. See if you can do a deep dive and go for PR. The reason why we are pushing for PR is that its much better option for you and looks like an achievable target. Study permit is a longer and expensive option. You might have seen students here waiting for months to get approval. I suggest talk to a immi consultant. They usually have some 15 mins free sessions.
About marriage, you can actually get married to someone who has done a certifiable MS :) Just kidding, but then if you happen to like each other then you both can earn there and get PR faster!!
Problem with 1 year is that you will have very less time to find a job and get PR status. Sit with the CRS calculator and work on the worst possible scenarios, if you come out winning in the worst scenario then do it. Also you can do a 1+1 course also, that gives you a 3 yr PGWP.
Whatever you do, make sure it will pass the Study Permit filters, otherwise think again. This is very very important. Just look at people who got refusal because of silly steps.

Can't agree more on this. Well said

Thanku for the detailed insight. In my express entry there is another challenge. I have 7 yrs of exp in same company. Its a KPO of medical billing. My subordinates make calls to insurance companies based in USA to check the status of medical claims to reimburse the money on the behalf of our US clients. I was having hard time finding the appropriate NOC and second, My HR dept. Clearly said they will not provide the job duties. Though, ive been getting salary in my bank acnt from day 1 + PF deduction. So keeping this barrier in mind whether I have 100% chance of nailin the PR after gettin the desired score in ielts.
