Hi Jessica,
I read one of your posts where you mentioned you finally made it after 10 years right? Well i have been here for almost 9 years too..( i know its a long way to get canadian status. ) From what I have heard, If you do it over the phone it takes longer to get your pr card.
About crossing border or visiting home country, I have heard thats your decision; although from what I read from CanadaVisa Forum users; if I would plan to go and come back from home country; I would require a Travel Document.
My Decision is still undecided but I plan to cross US Border.
By the way, do you have a deadline on your IMMIGRANT VISa to exit Canada or enter Canada ?? ( sorry i have no clue about that).
Cheers,
Shauwn

Ahhhh, maybe I'll need to make a trip to the boarder them.
I'm just going to wait for the phone call first and decide if I will go to the boarder and come back. I've checked the air fare, is at least like 500 bucks and I didn't want to spend that money :P
I came from a visa exempt country so I don't need a visa to come in to Canada. Did that answer your question?
The Confirmation of PR letter did show NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL tho >:(
I've also have a US visitor visa to enter to the State.

I was here since grade 9. What about u? prob at a very young age, too?
congratulation to both of us! finally made it this far!!

So you don't need travel doc if you leave Canada? that's good for you :)

well if you are in no rush for PR card then you can do appointment over phone and get it over with and that way you dont need to drive upto us border.
i plan to visit my family so I am little undecided about what to do yet.
I came after 1 yr college. At that time i was 20 :)
Good luck with your future endeavours :D

Yes, I don't need a travel doc to enter Canada and prob. that's the only good thing I like about my home country, Taiwan. 8)

My current post graduate work permit is not expire till nxt year in July. So, I'm not that in a rush.
The confirmation of PR is valid till next year in the end April.
:D :D
Good luck with your future as well

I will keep this forum posted when i hear next on my case :)

You found me :D
I was thinking if that was u, too. Cuz there are just not many Taiwanese ppl in Calgary needed to apply for immigration. What is ur plan for landing, btw :P
I'm still waiting for immigration officer's phone call to book an appointment to meet immigration officer locally in Calgary without going to the boader. But seems like is gonna take a while and CIC agent told me someone would call me to schedule an interview but I haven't receive any call yet.

Oh My.. hahaha..What a small world !! Congrats! We shall get a drink together for sure now once I got my landing paper.

As for landing, if you have time, you should just make a trip to the boarder. it's only 2.5 hours drive. Awesome view too.
I think I will be making a trip there and maybe go Waterton on the way back.

For the appointment, you will have to wait at least 1.5 months to be your turn. lol.

I have plans for waterton too haha ;D

Yeah, the reason I don't want to go for the road trip option to the border and come back is because I just got back from a long road trip to the States earlier this month :o I just didn't even expect my paperwork would be back this soon, otherwise, I would have waited.
but I guess, I might as well just go to Waterton and come back or something :P
have never been there, heard is very pretty
