My best advice to people writing letters and essays is to write DIRECT. For eg, couldnt, shouldnt words should be seldom used.
I answered in exactly same way except animal bites, because as far as I remember it was white pepper which was used to cure snake bites. The question was about 'black' pepper
Why would you rate as 6? Did you notice some grammar-vocabulary mistakes or off-topic issue? 'could' structure was appropriate for this context. Why should not we use them? Can you give some more details?
