Hello everybody.
I'm sponsoring my wife inland family sponsorship application and so far, after nearly 5 months, there is no AOR. I did receive an email from IRCC confirming I am a sponsor on her application though. Isn't that enough to use as AOR to apply for work permit? It is very important for us to be able to apply for WP and the insane 5 months without AOR has been unbearable.
your Work Permit will come almost at the same time as confirmation of PR. So sometimes it doesn't worth to apply for Work Permit

for paper-based application, applying for open work permit is a fairly straight process. You need to submit IMM 5710 along with fee payment receipt. All details are indicated in Guide IMM 5289.

For online sponsorship application however, it's not clear.
Hi, new to the forum. Working on PR for my wife. Would like to get her open work permit also. She has a work permit at the moment, but that will expire before our PR application has been processed. I downloaded IMM 5710, but the options at the top don't apply...
- Apply for a work permit with the same employer
- Restore my status as a worker
- Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer
- Get a new temporary resident permit (for inadmissable applicants only)

Am I missing something? Also, do you submit this form together with your initial PR application?

THANKS SO MUCH! This is a daunting task. Kenton

I'm sorry. I just heard of someone who applied online in November for dependent child inland sponsorship and didn't get an answer until May. The good thing is he got sponsorship during the same month.

Hello. I'm a newbie here. Me and my husband wants to apply inland sponsorship while I'm here in Canada. Can someone post the checklist here for spousal sponsorship? I can't open the file. Thank you

Welcome to share your timeline and questions below
Best wishes to all of you!

*Online application*
Anyone who applied online for family sponsorship is experiencing delay on receiving AOR?
We are waiting for almost 5 months already... No AOR means no OPW and that is a huge problem.

Could you please tell me if the sponsor received an email saying: "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) " at the same time the sponsored got the AOR?
Because I'm sponsoring and I received that email. That means they reached the application (how could they acknowledge I'm the sponsor otherwise?). I'm wondering if the lack of AOR is just a glitch...

I applied for my husband as well in the same situation at that time I marked it for restoring the status on feb 9. And he has got it on may 30.

No, It’s quite clear I have submitted the online application and at the same time I applied for my husband’s open work permit by uploading IMM 5710 form and paid the fees upfront. After medical and biometric request, he got his open work permit within 10 days.
