your wife can try to extend her visitor status. Was she granted 6 months initially?
Though I'm a till gathering money to migrate to Canada next year .. but I want to know the necessary paperwork and information .. and my best option is to claim asylum in canada
You need to get a TRV (tourist visa). To be approved for a TRV you must show that you have strong ties to your home country (e.g. employment, property, assets) and have no plans on coming to Canada long term. You must also show that you have enough money to pay for your trip to Canada. It's generally hard to be approved from Nigeria unless you have previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK.

If you can get a TRV approved and come to Canada legally on your own passport, then yes, it's guaranteed that you can submit a refugee application. However it's very far from guaranteed that your refugee application will be approved.

I think you are failing to realize how difficult it will be to get to Canada.
You said .. it will be difficult to get to Canada...that is why I want to get a mentor . That will direct me to the right part through information. .
What ties do you have to your home country? Do you have a job? Do you own property? How much do you have in savings?
Have you previously travelled to countries requiring visas such as the US or UK?
