How to change surname from maiden to married surname on UK Passport and Canadian PR card etc?

I have had my Canadian PR card for about a year and a half now, but I would like to change my surname legally over to my married name. This would be for all documents in my name including passport and PR card. (I got married in the UK before moving to Canada). How do I go about making this name...

eTA problem because of previously working in Canada

Thank you so much. We were unaware that he had PR until looking into today's definition of 'landed immigrant' so are going through the process now of renouncing his PR so that he can continue with his eTA application and hopefully should be ok then. Just not sure what to fill out where it asks...

eTA problem because of previously working in Canada

no. I was saying he won't enter on PR. He will be renouncing PR to continue his eTA application. He did not remember what his status was, he just remembered he worked over here it was a long time ago and vaguely that a document said 'landed immigrant' so we were trying to work that out and how...

eTA problem because of previously working in Canada

Ok thank you. So does this mean if he sends off the form renouncing his PR then his eTA will get processed with no issues? The 'voluntarily renounce permanent resident status' form asks for ‘Immigration document Date of issue’ and the 'document number'. He has no record of these. Does he need to...

eTA problem because of previously working in Canada

I think back in the 80s Permanent Residency wasn't really a thing? (I don't know, I wasn't around then). The definition of PR now seems to include 'landed immigrants' which is what he was classed as when he was here.

eTA problem because of previously working in Canada

My father is trying to come to Canada to visit me in May but when he applied for an eTA he has been asked to submit a form to 'voluntarily renounce permanent resident status'. He worked in Canada in the 80s nearly 40 years ago for less than 2 years therefore assumes he does not have PR status...

    EE PNP document upload question

Thanks so much for this! So I have changed my answer in EE about 'valid job offer' to 'no' so it is now no longer requesting me to provide the 'Offer of Employment' or 'Letter of Employment' - just 'Employment Records'. It stills maintains the additional points from PNP. Also, as I understand it...

    Accompanying spouse express entry

As far as I'm aware you don't need to be married. It's fine to go as common law partners so long as you can provide evidence that you have lived together for a minimum of 12 months which we have.

Hi guys, I am applying for EE under FSWP with my accompanying spouse (me as main applicant). I am currently out of work as I am planning our wedding and busy with other things whilst my partner works. Is it a disadvantage for me to be currently out of work when applying for the perminant...
