    I would avoid Travel shield - due to claim issues. There are other options with similar level of coverage & ease of claims as Manulife but less expensive.

    No it won't. Rule is only for the amount of coverage - Minimum $100k. There is no rule for deductible.

    Its almost impossible to get a claim reimbursed by overseas insurance companies. Better get insurance from Canadian company & either increase the deductible or decrease the amount to make it cost effective.

    Yes, you can cancel and buy again. Though there is a cancellation fee (might be $150-$250 or more) if cancelling insurance after getting the supervisa.

    Once claim has been filed, there is no refund. You should have taken advice of your agent before filing a small claim if you knew she planned to go back soon.

    Sorry, I misread your post. If they leave early then there is a administrative fee of $25-50 depending on the company. You still get the remaining refund. There are also monthly payment options
