It seems they are now calling applicants to provide a status update and potentially confirm the new passport issuance within a week.

Well that was at Service Canada office in Ottawa which is next to the passport office (they only process urgent applications). Interestingly it was August 10th the application and payment submitted, but then passport call centre agent stated the application started processing August 17th.

Apparently, applications received by Service Canada in-person are still considered pending until it is officially received by a passport officer. I just called the contact centre and was informed my application processing date was considered a week after I submitted it!

Exactly. Losing the certificate would cost a lot (time wise). You will have to wait 15+ months to get a new one!

Walk-in non-urgent application submitted on August 10 at Ottawa Service Canada next to Passport. ETA to send passport is September 7. Not sure why the long wait.

Ottawa passport office takes walk-ins for urgent matters, but also allow non-urgent to be processed by the next door office, Service Canada!

Congratulations! I also found it today in the mailbox. Glad we were able to be patient enough. Wish everyone else the best of luck. Time to apply for a passport and prepare for travelling in Christmas! Do you know if we can apply in person at the passport office here?

Are there requirements to qualify for in person application in Ottawa?

My status got updated to "Completed" after waiting two months post oath ceremony. I'm September 19 applicant and I know someone who applied in December 20 and got AOR in April. Who knows how long they will wait to get something for them.

I've not received the certificate yet but I don't think it is because of the address change made during the oath ceremony.

Your best bet is to politely continue to reach out your MP and explain how this has impacted a lot of factors such as travelling etc. Good luck

After a few weeks (10 weeks!) waiting, our status on the new trackers has changed to completed. At least mine and @GMP1990 Congrats to those who got the update and good luck for the rest.
