Hopefully some of the experts in this great forum chip in and explain newly granted citizens to immediately start exercise their rights when sworn in. I'm hoping I will be ready for elections to vote as well as plans to obtain a passport for future travel plans.

I called IRCC today and they also offered to send a communication to the office to complete the process as required. They informed to wait for a month in case there no update or the certificate was not mailed. Question: Would holding the certificate not to be sent within the suggested time...

That's correct. It was simply asked to sign both spots on the form and send the signed form back with the subject "JT" The also mentioned that I can reply to the same email address the invite was sent from or just use the email address provided in the form as the recipient's address.

It is possible we both have the same agent who probably is not available to process the forms on time. We will wait an see.

I'm not sure whether they will use regular or express mail.

Ottawa office applicants tend to have this issue it seems. Another member expressed similar experience so far:

I believe I didn't receive the instructions to fill those field other than signing both spots on the form. My form was not returned however it's been over 6 weeks since I had the oath without receiving the citizenship certificate.

It Mine still shows "In progress" so I'm not sure if it would change once the certificate is printed and mailed.

It seems no one at IRCC or Ottawa office is willing to respond to my inquires. Even the MP, can't get the matter resolved some how. Anyone had or learned of similar situation? The status on the new tracker still shows in progress!

Excuse me for asking this, but are you applying for proof of citizenship due to lost original certificate?

Thanks. I did call IRCC which they don't have much to do other than provide the basic information available. I emailed Ottawa's office two weeks ago but no response.

No not yet. The MP's office reported back to me that I would suppose to wait and be invited to the ceremony, again, which doesn't make sense!

I did send them an email directly to Ottawa's contact. Still no update back from them yet.
