I can't speak for every country, but usually they will transfer the visa paper from the old passport to the new for you. Check your local countries passport guidelines or local passport authority to confirm.

If I recall - the document asks for proof of PR, acceptable proof is PR card or landing document.

Let us know when you get your passport back! It's about 25 day wait right now - count 25 business days from when you landed and that is probably when you'll get it.

They updated it just now to 25 days. Keep in mind that i go by business days when i see these- they're more "accurate" (if you could really call it that).
