Live In Caregivers! Know your rights!

I have nothing to hide. I think you are probably someone that got "once bitten twice shy" with some situation and now you think all employers take advantage. The idea of just landing a new job and basically logging every breathe, word, sneeze - its ridiculous. People need to talk to each other...

Live In Caregivers! Know your rights!

I think you are taking what was said way out of context! I merely said that how can an employee:employer relationship be based on minute to minute work? Oh I am goign to walk around with a notebook in my pocket and or use my cell phone and text myself a message on "i work 7.2 minutes extra...

Live-in caregiver PR applicants for April,May and June timeline

Yes - I also spoke with Immigration Canada and they confirmed at EARLIEST 9-10 months wait time for first stage of PR (open permit). I will guess there were a number of people all arrived around the same time or completed the 24 months around the same time.

Live In Caregivers! Know your rights!

I have no real issues with my live in caregiver and I am only commended by Immigration representative s when i call to check in on papers, rules, regulations and requirements of the program and applications for whatever visa and PR documents as an "employer" that cares! Perhaps you misread what...

Foreign workers earn substantially less than Canadians

I am sorry - I am failing to understand why this is a surprise? But alaso realize those workers who are Canadian Born and been working in Canada their entire lives - have paid into the Canadian Health care syste, high taxes etc for their entire lives. Why should someone come in from another...

    change employer live in caregiver

In any employer/employee relationship there should be trust to a certain level. While i don't know the entire story of the lady Guiliana on the site here, you are only getting her side. There are always 3 sides to a story- hers, employers and the truth. ewhich is usually a combination of both...

Live In Caregivers! Know your rights!

Not all employers are horrible people - otherwise why do caregivers come here? I am upset with the lack of trust caregivers have with their employers. With my caregiver in particular, because I can only go based on experience is there is a severe lack of trust and the only people caregivers...

    "Living-Out" (Live-in Cargiver worker)

As Eunice said they might disqualifiy her and even for the employer - they might not be allowed to sponsor someone in the future. Inspectors have been known to come and see the room where the nanny lives. So they should have a room all set up, pricvat room, adn the nanny should have some things...

    good news for caregivers

Thanks Eunice! I don't necessarily think it is taking advantage of a nanny by paying her cash - (hope no CRA people are on this ste site :D ) Cash is cash if you know what I mean. The 3900 hours only recently came in. Not all employers are bad. From all my reading on the subject, the AGENCIES...

    good news for caregivers

Trust me I wish there was no fuss - she is causing the fuss because she was under the assumption that all she has to do is 30 hours a week for 2 years and she woudl apply for her and her family. So, I am stressed out ??? because I don't want her to be disappointed if somethign goes wrong so I...
