    LMO Processing Time Ontario

The average at the moment seems to be about 5 weeks. I've seen a couple of 8's and one or two 3's though. The "4-8 weeks" that immigration lawyers always quote seems to be about right. It obviously depends a lot on where you apply from and whether there are any problems with your application /...

    Work Permit (Advice)

Wow, that's surprising. That means my spouse has more rights than the spouse of a Canadian! I'm not complaining, but I would be if I was in Eddy's situation..

    Work Permit (Advice)

Surely not if she is married to a Canadian, as Eddy070 says he is? Even my wife doesn't need an LMO to get an open work permit, and I'm not even Canadian - I have a TWP in a skilled occupation.

    Does LMO processing cost C$3000??

If the contract specifically states that the employee is responsible for the fees paid by the employer to the immigration lawyers, yes. However, having worked on half a dozen or so expat contracts around the world including two in Canada, I have never seen that in a contract. In my experience...

    Does LMO processing cost C$3000??

I agree with what the others here have said - the LMO itself costs nothing. The prospective employer is the one who applies for an LMO, not you. If they have decided to use Immigration Lawyers to help them with the process, that's their decision and shouldn't be your problem.

    LMO Processing Time Ontario

Wow, that is crazy fast for an LMO. Good for you! I hope mine is as quick! Does anyone know if the fact that it is under LCP is the reason it was so fast?

    Spouse open work permit

As Leon said earlier, if you are from a country that is visitor visa exempt you should be fine. My wife was an "accompanying person" on my work permit and didn't have a visa of her own at all, but we left & re-entered Canada a few times with no problem as she is Australian.

    WORK APPLICATION REFUSAL

I'm just quoting what the CIC website says. I hope it's only 20 days for you.

    WORK APPLICATION REFUSAL

It depends where in India your application is being processed. According to the CIC website, it varies from 1 month in New Delhi to 37 months in Chandigarh. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/workers.asp

    WORK APPLICATION REFUSAL

The reason explains itself. You need an LMO before you can get a visa. If you don't know what an LMO is, I don't know where to start. Google it.

    LMO Processing Time Ontario

Looks like you & I are in similar fields (engineering & design), although judging by your NOC code you probably have more qualifications than me. Still, the cases are similar so I guess I should expect a similar timeframe.... unfortunately. :(

    LMO sucess for NOC B

You can't apply for a LMO, only a prospective employer can do that. If you are hoping to relocate first then find employment later, that's a different topic altogether.

    LMO Processing Time Ontario

What line of work are you in (NOC level/code) and where did you apply from? These things seem to affect the timeline so it would be helpful to see if our cases are comparable with yours. For the record, my NOC code is 2232 (NOC Level B). I applied from Australia (with the help of Toronto-based...

    Work Permit without LMO (Advice)

Chef is NOC category B. As I understand it, it's best to assume that you'll need a LMO.

    LMO Processing Time Ontario

I went through the process in 2007 and it took about 10 weeks to get an LMO, but as we were traveling from Brazil we needed to have a medical which slowed the process down. I'm in the process of applying for a new LMO right now. This time we're relocating from Australia so we shouldn't need a...

Should I just apply at the Border?

I'm about to go through the whole process again. Still waiting for my new LMO, expecting at least another month for that. Then I'll be straight on a plane. It's no fun sitting in immigration waiting for a WP after a 30-hour trip from Australia, with my wife and a bored/tired 6 year old in tow...

Should I just apply at the Border?

I went through this process a couple of years ago - picking up my work visa at the point of entry after receiving a job offer and positive LMO. You are right that you do get the visa then & there but just for everyone's info, it took closer to two hours than 30 minutes. Not that I cared once I...

Australian National Police Check + Fingerprints! how long will this take?

My NPC clearance certificate arrived within a week of me applying at the post office. Not sure about the fingerprint stuff though, I haven't been asked to do that although our situations are probably different.

LMO Processing time in Toronto, Ontario

Wow, that's quick. What line of work are you in? My application is supposed to be submitted this week. The immigration lawyers my company are using have had all of my documents for over a week but have been "working on" the application. Hopefully that extra work means everything will run...
