    Finishing not-in-demand Master's program

I see. Yes, it looks like tech is one occupation that's been represented a lot by immigrants in the recent past. I agree 100%. IRCC is so unpredictable. We never know what they may do. Sometimes they implement changes so quickly and bring beneficial policies. Other times their systems are...

    Finishing not-in-demand Master's program

Hi all! I am about to finish a Master's degree from a public university. I will have to apply for a PGWP soon. But my Master's program is not in the priority sectors or priority study program list. Even though it's very highly quantitative, it still doesn't get classified as STEM. I am less...

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

I guess assimilation costs are higher for those who directly land, as opposed to those who become a PR after already studying or working here temporarily. For instance, in all provinces there is a settlement and integration program providing services for newcomers. While these are very useful...

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

I agree with the points you have kindly mentioned. Yes, looking at it logically and trying the best is the way forward. Thank you once again.

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words. Yes, I am seriously trying to pursue those 50 points for a job offer. But that seems to require an LMIA. I have a PGWP which is an open work permit. If I need the 50 points, my employer has to essentially post the job again, go through the hiring...

Full time job with a co-op work permit

What about the new measure that allows eligible international students to work more than 20 hours off campus? That could be used to work full time I guess, if the student is eligible for that measure.

Full time job with a co-op work permit

Is this by using the new measure that allows international students to work more than 20 hours off campus? If someone is eligible for this new measure, I think they can take up a full time job.

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

Thanks so much for this link! Yes, I saw this recently. Looks like there may be some categories for students in in-demand study programs. Hoping things aren't too bad...

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words - they are very uplifting. I too hope that the cut off will be manageable... I wish IRCC gave more information on how the NOC-based draws are going to be implemented.

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

I agree. Even with a 3 year PGWP, it's like a ticking bomb now as to whether our status will be valid long enough until our score meets the threshold required for an invite. If you don't mind, could you give some advice on how you're learning French? I would have to start from scratch if I have...

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

I completely agree. I wonder why the media doesn't cover this. With the NOC based draws, the chances have become so low for CEC candidates with even Master's degrees. So unfortunate.

Who else is scared and frustrated about lack of CEC draws?

CEC specifically need not be drawn. But all program draws have become so unpredictable that there seems to be no room for CEC candidates. The maximum a CEC candidate can score is 501, with a perfect English score, less than 30 years of age, a Master's and 1 year Canadian work experience. Now...

    Ray of Hope #237 Draw

Hi! You could apply for the non-EE PNP stream right? Like the non-EE skilled worker stream and the non-EE International Graduate stream? Pardon my ignorance if I'm getting confused... I was thinking that PNP candidates always have a non-EE option that they can apply for and will take a longer...

PR after 1 Year of Study Permit?

I'm grateful for your kind response. My employer might be willing to give a job offer that's valid until the expiry of my PGWP. The letter will say that the offer would be permanent if I get PR. Would you think this kind of offer fulfills the "permanent, indeterminate" offer requirement?

PR after 1 Year of Study Permit?

Hello! You mentioned that you applied for the non-tech BC PNP stream. Could you please give any information on how the employer can meet the recruitment efforts criteria? Also, in non-tech fields, which kind of employers are willing to give a permanent offer and declare that they couldn't hire...

Is CEC going to be of no use from now onwards?

Thanks a lot for your reply. I agree - if the general all category draws continue and then if my score isn't enough, then it'll be a tricky situation. Also, people need time to plan and prepare what and how they'll take the next course of action. If the categories are announced just before...
