There are people who applied between the 21st and 28th of May geting their decisions but I don't know anyone personally who got theirs. Plus, I applied on the 27th of May and I just had my medical finally updated a few days ago after two months of radio silence.

I'm also seeing some early May and then those who applied around the 28th of May getting their results. I thought they were random before but now, they're all over the place. I was a little less panicked before because I was seeing them move through weeks but now, they're picking random dates...

A bunch of PPRs have come in to people who applied on the 21st of May. It's such a funny coincidence it's not like only a couple from 21st and the rest are from across May. Nope, a boatload of PPRs of 21st May applicants.

That's IRCC's fault for not updating that. Apparently, they're taking about 12 weeks to process most student permit applications now, irrespective if it's SDS or non-SDS.

I finally got my medical updated on the GCKey portal! No email, I just have a habit of logging in 2-3 times a day. Here's a snapshot of my profile so far: SDS India Upfront medical: 7th May File submitted: 27th May Biometrics done and processed: 1st June Medical update: 29th July

The fact that you're getting regular updates is a good sign in itself. :) Whether that affects your processing time is something I'm not sure of. Just be patient and hope for the best.

Yup. I agree. I also saw someone who applied on the 26th of May get their visa under SDS in India. I'm guessing it has to be a coincidence. Plus, this week has been all about clearing most April and May files. This makes sense because they want to keep their average processing time at 12 weeks...

To be fair, it hasn't been 12 weeks yet, so I guess that's why they have a standard response for those whose file are still under review?

Obviously just hearsay but it feels like Indian embassy peeps have collectively stopped processing a lot of May files beyond the 16th because today, I'm seeing a lot of people from April getting their decisions. Maybe they're trying to ensure they don't leave too many files in the backlog before...

To be honest, I'm glad the processing time for student permits hasn't gone up. Disappointed it hasn't decreased but happy it didn't increase either. Glass half full

OK, I'll say this again. No, two of my cousins, who applied in April and May of this year, got their visas in 10 weeks. They applied via SDS (India) and submitted all the documents they felt were necessary. That's all. They got their decisions before the given 12 weeks processing time...

No. My cousins got their decisions in 10ish weeks and they did nothing. Each of them had complicated work experiences across countries. SDS was always supposed to have a turnaround time of 25ish days in general.

That's true. They're still in sleep mode.

No way to expedite but there are plenty of folks from India who are getting their decisions within 9-10 weeks as opposed to the 12 weeks.

Yup but to be fair, their processing speeds are getting faster.
