I just managed to talk to IRCC after 11 call attempts. They said things like security and criminality passed. I then repeatedly asked if that means background verification is completed and the agent didn’t even understand what background verification means and kept telling me to just wait for...

We are facing the same situation. Usually we should see background completed on the following day. We are kind of outliers. Do you think it’s worth calling then to ask for an update?

Has your background verification changed to completed? I got a GU last Friday but the background verification status is still not changed by now. Ecas changed to in process last Thursday.

When did your ecas status change to in progress? I’ve seen that it can take a few days for tracker status to change.

My ecas status changed to in progress this morning. No change/no GU in tracker. AOR August 16

It seems like things are moving pretty slowly for our august group. I noticed that by 2-month mark many applicants in the previous months saw their background verification completed.

No progress at all. Still “received” in ecas and no update in tracker. My AOR was sent on August 18.

My understanding is that the status in ecas will only change to in “progress” when someone is actually starting to work on our application. According to previous month’s folks, the status of background verification in the tracker will become “complete” some days after the status in ecas changes...

I feel it may be too early for us August folks to see movements now haha.

I also just got this email for a second time. It is definitely sent automatically in big batches. Nothing has moved on. Tracker shows in progress but Ecas still application received.

Haha that is light speed if we get this done by this Christmas. I would feel lucky if I can complete the test by Christmas. I’ve seen some cases done within 7-8 months, so I would be super happy if we get it by next March.
