I want to move back to Canada with my American Spouse...

What about the process do you find confusing and/or what specific questions do you have? I'm American and my Canadian partner and I have been living in the states for the past few years. We applied outland, and most all of the forms/procedures were very straightforward - they just required ample...

****June 2018***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

That's not uncommon or unusual. I read in another thread that June 4 applicants have started getting AOR. Give it some time.

Proof that we will live in Canada??

We wrote out a detailed plan outlining the following: job/career plans, living arrangements, and personal affairs. In their letter of support, my partner's parents expressed their willingness to help us out with accommodations and living expenses when we first move back. My partner also kept his...

****FEBUARY 2018***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

I'm a January applicant, and according to ECAS, they started processing my application on 5/29. I received my PPR the next day. The CIC page changed to "Approved" four days after CPC - Ottawa received my documents. Hopefully your application follows a similar trajectory!

****FEBUARY 2018***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Same situation (American applying outland; documents were delivered on 6/18). Have you gotten any clarity on when the documents should be returned to you? I presume it's a case-by-case thing.

proof of intention to reside in Canada

Agreed. You're cluttering up the discussion board and posting in threads that do not apply to you/your situation. It would behoove you to be more patient.

Seconding this. As far as I know, her being pregnant doesn't really afford her any shortcuts when it comes to immigration.

A few general questions - moving from USA to Canada

This isn't necessarily true. You're required to file a tax return, but you're allowed to deduct a certain amount of earned income (around 100k). There are also tax treaties between the two countries to prevent double taxation, if it comes to that. It's a pain in the ass, and I would recommend...

    What can I do?

In the nicest way possible, if you knew you intended to apply for common-law (and presumably knew the requirements there), why didn't you make more of an effort to create/gather proof of cohabitation? For instance, you probably could have asked for your name to be added to the lease and to some...
