2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

I went on a 3 week trip with my partner between application received and AOR. We were visiting his family in Europe and mine in Australia, plus Fiji. CBSA officer at Toronto Pearson asked about our trip, we said to visit family. We went through the Canadian citizen/PR line together. I had my...

IMM5532 - When was the first time you met in person?

If I remember correctly, the form also asks the circumstances of your first meeting. This would be the place to explain in brief how you were childhood friends.

    Application submitted in August 2018

At the time I had an IEC permit, and this was 14 months ago, so perhaps it was different. Thanks for the link, it will come in handy when I start working and have to deal with Service Ontario again!

    Application submitted in August 2018

I spent 10 months dealing with Service Ontario re OHIP. Work permit AND at least 3 months employment in a full time job is required. For PR, a previous poster has said their dealings informed them that it is AIP (Approval in Principle) that is required for OHIP, but perhaps they can speak more...

Yep, keep it with you when you travel. It should also have you eTa attached, should it be required, but someone else may chime in on that. eTa is electronic travel authorisation, and is usually used by nationals from visa-exempt countries.

Congrats! What is your timeline? You don't need to apply for any extra visa, your OWP is your visa until your PR comes through.

    Conjugal Partner Sponsorship - Doubts

This is not a reason for conjugal. Even if you can't get a study visa, you can attempt to extend your visitor visa to live together in Canada for 12 months to become common-law. Your partner not speaking the language is not an immigration barrier to her coming to Brazil, for you to live together...

Maybe there are further issues than just the one? Stars, I feel bad for IT. And the airline customer service people moreso, because its not their system thats broke, but they have to deal with the issue front line.

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Some processes are too big for back up servers. Some glitches affect back up servers. Some glitches may actual be physical server damage, or a connection issue caused by a third party. The possibilities are endless. Why they dont have a back up PLAN of some description, and better communication...

You would think they would have a back up plan, even if only to let people fly, and let CBSA sort it out in Canada.

Ok, so its a major problem then. Even so, with technical glitches, they can take time to repair, if they don't know what is wrong.

I got it as well. Probably minor, will be fixed soon, and have no impact on actual processing.

    Open Work Permit Wait Time?

How old is your partner? Canada recently changed the IEC rules for Australians, allowing those up to age 35 to apply. This one can be done online, completely separate to your outland app, and is the one that gives the 6-8 week time frame for processing. When I did my first one, it arrived in 5...
