New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

From what's written it is all the NOCs, but if your job is in the annex A and B for essential worker stream then you apply through that.

Yeah, I think you're right, but I guess beginning the process to get them is better soon. Also for medical, there are some that do let you do it upfront (unless I misunderstood) but I was able to book with one and they said they "start the case from scratch" whatever that means.

The same email I've applied to things previously, like work/study permits, I might have checked a box once saying I accept emails from IRCC regarding announcements.

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

It's just an email describing the announcement, a link to the eligibility criteria, intake caps, and just that more details to come when the pathway opens.

I don't see why it would be faster than CEC so yeah I think it will be the same. Also, IRCC just sent out an email explaining the announcement. It says we should prepare if we qualify by booking a language test. We will receive more information about the program and how to apply once the pathway...

I was reading an article about the PGWP extension, and here's a quote: "Graduates rely on the PGWP to obtain the work experience necessary to apply for a skilled worker immigration pathway; surveys suggest 60% of PGWP holders want to transition to permanent residence. According to IRCC, this...

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/apply-permanent-residence/police-certificates.html Please see under "Date the certificate was issued". For country you currently live (Canada in this case) it needs to be less than 6 months...

Yes, you can use a police certificate more than 6 months old for a foreign country if you do not live there again after the issue date.

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Get the foreign police certificate from now, what I read is you aren't required to have the Canadian one at the time of. application. Medical I'm not sure of either.

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Sure but Ontario graduate streams take 1000-1500 and it's registration only not submitting full documents. For example, if the system has a mandatory field to put in your IELTS certificate number then that alone stops a lot of ineligible applicants. My take is on the 40k students not the...

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Yep, I feel it is a stretch to assume 40,000 international graduates are currently employed, have their IELTS and police certificates ready to go on May 6. Those that have skilled work would have applied for CEC at the 1 year mark, those will NOC C and D would make use of the essential worker...

I think do whatever comes first? This new stream would probably require police certificate too.

I mean the quota will be processed. If there are ineligible they'll take the next submitted eligible application...lying on a PR application is extremely serious, people have been banned for 5 years for it.

Does anyone know if this needs a medical exam? Do you we have to do that too?

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Unfortunately, it says you need to be on a work permit and be employed (paid work) for this stream.

Just wait, there's no reason to expect this one would be processed faster than yours.

I feel the wording is a little vague for us to know for sure :/ let's hope more details come out soon.

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

I am really unsure :( they have no released more details yet. But if I were to guess, it would be a separate site, since the announcement says " 6 new programs"

I don't really know how many are eligible, the closest to a number we have is the PGWP eligible for extension policy where around 50,000 were eligible.. I would assume many are in the same boat as you? just try to do it ASAP and hope for the best.. no one knows if it closes in 5 days.

New Policy for International Students - April 12th, 2021

Yes, the idea is that you wouldn't have to wait for your one-year mark. In your case, you can apply a month ahead (or just wait till June, as CEC might be faster who knows). The list is for the essential worker streams, you would apply under the international graduate stream (any job is fine as...
