OLD IN PROCESS VS NEW IN PROCESS ON ECAS EXPLAINED

Hi Eagle, Thank you so much for explaining the difference between the old and new procedures. To be honest, I am still finding it quite hard to understand. Would you be able to help me? The information on ecas for me is: 1. We received your application for permanent residence on August 6...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Thanks DMinty! I really hope that there has been a really efficient change in the London office but I do understand that I have to be realistic. However, it is strange to see ecas notes pop up earlier than expected - ie. request for more photos and notice of medical results received. I really...

Ah that makes it so confusing. I had an extra line added over the weekend saying that processing started on 5th October if you would like to update the spreadsheet! :-)

Thanks Canuck! I was told in the letter to follow specifications from here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3998E_tempA.pdf which says they need a stamp - hopefully they accept these!

Oh maybe! But it does say in the requirements: One photo must bear the name and complete address of the photo studio and the date the photo was taken must be included on the back of one photo. The photographer may use a stamp or handwrite this information. Stick-on labels are unacceptable.

Yes, now I know that the company who took my picture did not stamp the back with their company name and date. In the cluster of getting everything together I did not know that was a requirement. I am sure that they check all is in order when they receive everything so to give as much notice as...

I wonder if them asking for new photos means that processing has begun? It does seem unusually early, so surely it must be a skim through the docs to check everything is there before adding to the pile..?

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hi there, I received an email from the Canadian High Commission today asking for me to send them 4 new photos, but didn't supply an address. I have the address for Canada House in London, but I wonder if there a specific office that I need to send it to. Has anyone had to do this before and...

Hi Andrew, We are common-law and I am applying for PR. I am from London, UK so Visa exempt and my partner is from Toronto. She lives here in London with me in London but is moving back in December. Is the London office still suffering severe backlogs even for 'straight-forward' applications...

Thanks Andrew. Yes, sorry, I did ask. However I came across a CIC article that made me wonder further. It won't allow me to publish a like here, but the title of the article is Work Permits for Spousal Sponsorship Applicants. It says: "A foreign spouse in this situation can still apply for a...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hi all, My Spousal Permanent Residence Visa application was received on 6th August and my spouse's sponsor check process started on 4th September. My Canadian fiancée is moving back to Canada from London in December. I'm expecting I won't be able to join her until my Visa is approved (I...

I think it was sent inland. My fiancée is a Canadian resident and I sent my application to her father in Toronto (who is conveniently a lawyer) to look over. He sent it from there. Would that make a difference?

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Wow what an amazingly helpful piece of work! Thanks so much. So there would be a small chance that it would be processed in Mississauga and may take only 4 months?? That'd be so perfect. Fingers crossed for that (even though I sure it's so unlikely). Do you know the reason for that possibility?

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Yes, hopefully because I included medical cert etc. right away and without their prompt that should save a little time. Do you work in the London office? One more question - my fiancée is itching to move back. I can't handle long distance, so if she decides to move back earlier is there any way...
