If your H1-B was approved and you have received your i797-A approval then you are no longer on F1. Your change of status was approved from F1 to H1. You can travel back to USA from Canada with an expired F1 visa stamp and an approved I797-A document which has i94 validity. I had done this earlier.

Hi, can you please tell me your timeline. My documents were received by LA CVAC on Jan 9th and today that is Jan 12th they sent an acknowledgment that they have received the documents. When do you think they would stamp the visa and initiate the return? Would it be Jan 17th?

@Abelo They sent an email today that they have received the documents and provided an Acknowledgement of Receipt. Did they mention how much time they take to stamp the visa and send the passport back? What additional info did they ask. Can you please let me know.

What all you sent? Is it better to purchase 2 way or 1 way courier?

Applied from US and there was no request for expedited processing.

My friend had applied for TRV and it was approved within a week of completion of Biometrics. Nov 2022 applicant.

For new portal we need not upload any other forms right? As all the questions in the forms were already covered while submitting the application on the portal. Please advise

I would recommend to consult an attorney. But AFAIK since your PD can become current in couple of years, the new employer should start your i140 process. You will be able to retain the PD of 2012. You also don't need H1 to work for a US employer as you can work on TN visa since you are a...

i797-B means that your extension of stay is denied. You can't travel back on your new H1 as there is no i94 attached to it. You need to get your visa stamped and only then you can enter US.
