would this be a problem in establishing we're common law?

I think you do have quite a bit of evidence, you should be fine, even without a letter from his parents. Another thing that you could do would be to sign the Declaration of Common Law Union form in front of a notary or similar. I know if says only if you have a co-signer, but lots of common law...

I think it's useful! Also, on the spreadsheet, the date that my application arrived is July 26th, not 27th. :)

    Sponsoring with Common Law HELP!!!

Ok, first, you need to qualify as common law. People prove this by submitting lease agreements, joint utilities, official id or documents showing both people living at the same address, tenancy agreements, letters or affidavits from landlords, mail addressed to both people at same address, etc...

    Thread for July 2011 applicants

I'm panicking a little bit because I didn't send my option C with my application. Revenue Canada wasn't done their assessment of me for 2010, and after some asking on here, I discovered that plenty of people don't send it, and just send a note and some pay stubs. I ended up sending some pay...

So do you have to include entire pages that are not applicable, or just write n/a on the document checklist?

Anyone want to double check our genuine relationship proof?

My partner and I are applying common law. We are including 4 Declaration Letters that are notarized plus about 6 that aren't. We did not even include contact information on the letters, although 2 are from family members whose addresses/phone numbers are included in the app, so they could find...

Advice on if we could use Blingees for Relationship Evidence

Yes, i agree, you can include them. I think it's a good idea to get creative with the genuine relationship evidence, and really cover your bases.

    Question regarding payment

I don't know what kind of credit card you have, but is it possible to just transfer 40 dollars to it (so you would have 1040 of credit) and pay that way? I have a card with a 1000 dollar limit too, and that is what I plan to do next week, I've done similar before. :) Hope you can figure it out!

Sponsorship without money and Medical Forms

Hi, I'm the sponsor and I don't have income right now either. I'm a student in Canada, but have been living in Germany with my partner for the last year and not working. Frustrated! Option C Printout issue

I would do this, but as I said above, I have not worked here in Germany. I do not earn much, even in Canada, because I am a student. Do you think I could just include an option C printout from 2009? I could also include a bank statement of mine, and my partner's, also a letter of support from my...

    Frustrated! Option C Printout issue

Ok, here is the situation: I have been living in Germany the past year. I haven't worked here. I got my mom to file my 2010 tax return, I did sign and send it back, by that time it was a month late. I guess she talked to someone at Canada Revenue and they advised her to send my income tax to the...

Question about Sponsorship Evaluation #3 Net Personal Income

Hi, I was wondering about this question. I am a student too, and have been abroad for the year (not working), however, I also got a small inheritence from my grandmother and some money wired to my account from my parents for Christmas and stuff. Would I include any money that came into my bank...

    Visitor Receipt/Application PR Questions...

I've never heard of a Border agent imposing a timeframe like that, does it happen often? I didn't realize they could even do that. How are you supposed to get an entire application ready in a week? That's ludicrous. It's taken us MONTHS to prepare... Good luck to you! And definitely consider...

Things to bring for medical exam

Also, prescription glasses or contact lenses and a copy of your prescription. At least that is what the DMP here in Germany wants. And the fee in cash. Again, just what our doc wants! Best way to know is to phone the office, confirm appt. and ask what they require! :)

Why I am glad I am not in Canada yet...

I don't think there are Tchibo stores in Canada. I know when I first came to Germany they totally confused me. Cafe that also sells dress shirts? whaaaaaaat? :P Haha.
