    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

Ceremony invite on 29 November for a ceremony on 11 December 2019! I will become a citizen almost exactly 5 years after I became a PR and 8 years after I applied for PR and started this very long adventure. Relieved it's almost over!

Passed Citizenship Test - Status Has Not Changed to "Decision Made"

Yeah, it has been a long wait for me. After the first 3 months I contacted IRCC by phone and that was a complete waste of my time; the rep on the line gave me no information and just reminded me that anything under a 12-month wait is considered to be routine/standard. I contacted my MP and I was...

    Citizenship ceremony

Yes, sorry - ECAS is the online status. The good news is that if it’s still ‘In Process’ that means IRCC is still working on your files and no decision has been made yet. It’s impossible to guess the reason for the delay but have you tried reaching out to your local MP? I had some success with...

Hi, before we go too far into this, what is your ECAS status?

Passed Citizenship Test - Status Has Not Changed to "Decision Made"

I applied December 2018, took my test in June 2019 and didn't get to Decision Made in ECAS until last week, November 2019. It took me 5.5 months between passing the test (20/20) to DM, and my circumstances aren't unusual.

Hello, just an update for the spreadsheet - DM on 21 November 2019.

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

+1. Here's why no one on here can tell you the right thing to do: None of us are you. My own test invite did not contain the notice that yours did requiring photocopies. My invite only requires the original documents. My point is that every single person is unique and what CIC/IRCC requires...

    Oath Ceremonies in Vancouver?

Hi, a cursory review of the application spreadsheet indicates that the answer is yes. An October 2018 applicant, @charalito , appears to be a Vancouver applicant who took the test in April and has already received an oath letter invite.

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

FYI for anyone who has received a test invite by email but hasn't seen the 4th line show up in ECAS... I got my email test invite on May 1st but it didn't actually show up in ECAS until this past Tuesday, 7 days later. I don't know why it is instant for some and takes so long for others but...

Received call from IRCC for clarification on personal information

It sounds legit. When I was applying for PR, CIC/IRCC called me (with no caller ID) randomly to let me know that my COPR had been issued and was being mailed to me. No questions for me, just a courtesy call to give me the good news directly from my case processing officer. Sure enough, my COPR...

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

This is correct, but other reasons might include: - you changing your name after a marriage or for another reason; - not declaring any criminal history (even minor or something that was expunged/not prosecuted) if your name/DOB comes up in US or foreign law enforcement databases (IRCC/RCMP has...

Held US green card(gave it up) as a Canadian PR, will it affect PR renewal/citizenship?

To answer your first two questions, as long as you meet the residency requirements, you should be ok. Don't be surprised if they flag your PR renewal and citizenship applications for further scrutiny. Your renewal/citizenship application wait times could potentially be longer than the averages...

time delay in process to test invite ?

It's pretty common to see people on here with completely unrealistic expectations about processing times. Many of us waited years for PR (over 2.5 years for me) and I guess we're just more used to this taking a while.

    December 2018 - Citizenship Applications

It's automated but with some minor differences. It was sent from an email address specific to my local office (e.g., Halifax) rather than a generic no-reply IRCC address, and the email subject line says "Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Event Notification / Immigration, Réfugiés et...

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

SRB, as karthik mentioned, you should be ok. Go here (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=857&top=4) and then here (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/steps-getting-a-certified-criminal-record-check). Sounds like you can get your fingerprints at any local police station that is...

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

I take it you noticed this on ECAS? Check your spam email folder and check ECAS to make sure they have your correct email address listed. If they do and you still can't find the email from IRCC, email or call them and ask them to re-send immediately. The email contains a PDF file that is your...
