It only need when you are more than 6 month before/during the processing time. Once get your PR stamp forget about all, caz you r done (but you may collect a new copy of PCC from your country, if the Immigration officer ask that during your spouse's landing).

Your PR visa will be valid until one year of your medical test date (like if you did your medical at December 15, 2016, your visa will be valid until December 14, 2017). So, you have to come before that!!

Good luck. My previous application took more than 2 months to pass Med and they returned my application due to Korean PCC's missing information (total time took 10 weeks). Resubmit again at Feb 10.

Are you CEC inland or outland? Inland applicant requires around 2 months for Medical/start processing (now a days)!!!
