What happens after receiving confirmation of permanent residency?

Once you get CoPR you can flagpole at the border and complete your landing. It doesn't take long, the only real delay is if there are other people doing the same thing or the border crossing is busy. Once you have landed you need to get your new SIN from Service Canada which you could do the...

I have lived and worked in canada for 4 years and have just been approved without sending a Canadian police record. Unless they changed the rules since July when i sent my app in you do not need to submit it, they will look it up themselves.

Congrats Bagel!!!!!!! That is great news. I am insanely jealous, my copr is somewhere between Sydney and Calgary so I think it's mailman stalking time again... I have been applying for lots of jobs, including one with westjet so I get cheap flights. If I get it I might need to pop over to...

What?!?! How did you get yours to 2.1mb???? Maybe I am just too impatient lol. I wasn't having a great day with my printer/scanner when I got my email, so I guess I was a little less tolerant than I should have been. It didn't help that my scanner forgot what it was doing at page 48 of my 50...

Thanks mrlahori! Thanks for sharing Figgy! Sounds easy enough. I have flag-poled twice for other reasons and found the process really simple and easy and the most nerve-racking part was dealing with the grumpy USA border guys! The Canadian guys were awesome and really funny. One was asking me...

Figgy's CoPR was sent just before Christmas so that was probably a factor in the delay. Also, based on the destroyed box and apology letter something obviously went wrong and that would have also caused a delay. From what I read in my email from Sydney CIC they send the CoPR by REGULAR, not...

Thanks! What date was your stage one approved? I will add the details and fill in the gaps. Torontobound2012 - I have added you as well. As you can see from earlier applications most are all done within 4-6 months. The website says 9 months as that is how long it takes for them to process 80%...

We have to wait for CoPR to come by snail mail unfortunately. I was hoping I could just give my credit card details to have it couriered and tracked, but without an account with Fed ex or UPS there is not much choice.

Yes. The email address is also written on the letter somewhere, or you can just hit reply. They have a size limit on attachments of 3.5mb which is really small when you need to scan a 50 page passport. I couldn't get mine any smaller than 3.8mb (started with 17mb even on low res settings!) so...

Congrats kiwikiwi!! Yes they want every page including the blank ones. It just means that you will have until June 24 2013 to land. This date is usually when your medical expires as they are only valid for 12 months.
