Random "Your application has been updated" emails

I submitted my EE profile yesterday, registered with Job Bank etc and got a message that my profile has been activated. Today I received an email saying "Your application has been updated" and telling me to check my application status. I viewed my profile but certainly nothing has changed, the...

@Conor9900: So I see you received your ECA today as well? :) The suggestions from @YamPower seem to be correct, they do European degrees very quickly and others very long.

    Telecommuting work experience

Does telecommuting work count as relevant work experience for CIC (provided that it's at least 30 hours per week)? I did some work for an employer this way (NOC 2174) and I am hesitating whether I should put it in my profile?

    Crazy WES evaluation!

Apparently, not always. I have 5 years consolidated Master's program (no Bachelor's title) and was evaluated by WES as Bachelor's + Master's.

I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry with 465 :) I do not think the score would go down than up in subsequent draws, definitely for the next few draws it will be going down only.

WES delays due to increased volume of ECA applications?

Ah well, that may be a good explanation. I don't see many people from Europe on the forum, so the supposed "European" division of WES probably has little to do. I think few people from Europe want to migrate to Canada because we can move freely to UK, Ireland, France, Germany and wherever we...

I never heard of courses like mine in Canada (we don't have them here as well these days - it was a post-Communist legacy). I was told that normally Bachelor's takes 4 years in Canada and Master's is considered postgraduate, this is very different to Poland. My WES account was showing estimated...

Yes it is possible. Maybe also it's because I obtained a new transcript from my university which showed ECTS grading for each course - my old transcript from 2003 did not have them. As there is a standardized system now in European Union on how much ECTS credits are required for Bachelor's...

WES delays due to increased volume of ECA applications?

For what it's worth, my WES ECA was done in three business days. On 18 Feb the documents were received by them and on 20 Feb the status was changed to "Evaluation in progress". Today (25 Feb) I received notification that the evaluation was complete, so it took them three working days (excluding...

@dobes: Not necessarily just an extra title. Right now (I guess in Slovakia it is the same) we need to prepare two thesis papers: One for Bachelor's (lic.) and second one for Master's (mgr). In the old system, there was only one thesis for Master's. So the number of years studied is the same...

A (possibly) plausible theory about the number of people in the pool and scores

Yes, that is possible, but that alone does not explain why there is so many of them. So I suggest that beside a number of people who had LMIA and therefore did not bother paying for ECA, there is also a considerable number of people who got 600 points by mistake, and they made this mistake...

A (possibly) plausible theory about the number of people in the pool and scores

I think that with Express Entry there will be smaller difference between January and other months than it was between May and other months in 2014, because in EE there is no priority for people who applied first. But that remains to be seen.

A (possibly) plausible theory about the number of people in the pool and scores

PnP for business immigrants would not go through Express Entry. Express Entry is only for skilled workers. And I guess business immigrants would rather speak better English (on average) than people in the Skilled Trades category :) But there was some post already by a person who got BC PNP for...

A (possibly) plausible theory about the number of people in the pool and scores

OK, so far we have no official statistics from CIC about the pool, and we only know two contradictory facts: * The number of people in the Excel suggests that there should be no more than a few thousand people in the pool, based on correlations between the number of people in Excels for...
