Today I talked to a friend who applied for the Foreign Worker Stream last Sep 2019 and just got PR this Oct 2020.
If she just counts the time the PR processing, it only took 10 months o_O!
But from everyone here, I thought that will take much more time than that?
This is awesome news, Congrats!
This's also good news for all of us, showing that as long as the employer willing to fight for you, OINP will still consider and not cast you away!
My lawyer said we don't need recruitment efforts if we already have valid working status in Ontario (don't even need to start working for the sponsor employer yet).
For your case, because your husband's status expired, and he's on implied status, he basically not consider to be in Ontario...
I've successfully got a slot for my wife on International Student stream... ironically, she might not be able to use it (her job is qualified, but her employer might not want to fill the form...).
.... I already got my employer form.... but I missed my chance with Foreign Worker streams open...
Hi, I don't have the answer to this, but may I ask some questions about your case?
Your expired work permit is open or closed one?
The extension you're requesting now is for an open or closed work permit?
Thanks.
Anybody here knows about the detail of the work permit supported document come along with the nomination?
I would like to ask on the expired date of the document, and if it's expired, I wonder if we can request a new one?
Let say when I got nominated, and I still have a year or two on my open...
I'm at 650 in the queue.
And I know at least 3,4 people ahead of me (based on their waiting time).
None of them nor I got the filter number...
So how can they have 1300??? unless 1300 people logged in in the first minute or so...
It cost nothing to reserve the file number, then if they don't use it, they just let it expired...
I think that's the biggest flaw in how the stream intake...
I know someone who got the file number in March, and then they just ignore it because they don't qualify :(
As a wild guess, OINP could treat it as misrepresentative.
In the employer form, there is a specific question about if the employer supports the candidate with LMIA, so the employer will have to put in LMIA information, and OINP officer can compare it with the payslip that you've provided...
Some, the following is something I can think off, might be incorrect here and there, as I'm not a lawyer or anything :)
- Employee (you) need to have at least 2 years Exp for the NOC code (instead of 1 year like LMIA).
- The employer has to be in business for at least 3 years (instead of 1 year...
From my understanding, you can't apply for this stream, because the Employer Form (it's different from the job offer or employment letter) will have to be finished and signed by the company, and there is no other way around this.
I think people still confused about the requirement of the stream:
https://www.ontario.ca/page/oinp-employer-job-offer-foreign-worker-stream
To apply for this stream, both you and employer will need to meet all the requirements in the link above.
There are few important points for employee...
Sorry, I’m not sure. We’re in the end just the same, we just read the instructions.
When in doubt, better send them an email or get in touch with immigration consultants.
In the employer form said it's the "number of full-time employers (who are citizens for permanent residents)".
So if your company is in GTA, you will not qualify.
(but sent them an email to confirm, I tried and they reply quickly).
On the silver lining, in 2019, when OINP close the stream for the year, they updated
We will see in a few days if they indeed close it for the rest of the year...
OINP, as of July 9, 2020, 3,932 nominations has been issued (in a total of 7,350).
Yesterday, I guessed they'll open around 600, 700 slots for FWS... after the situation today (and Mar 2020)... I'm not sure what to expect now...
