I don't want to go back without completing 1 full year in Canada

As per this website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp): In the end you'll have to make sure the dates your employer writes on your reference letter add up to at least one year. I really don't know how taking a leave would work but I just wanted to...

give the "TEF: Test d’évaluation de français" - upto additional 26 points

Re: give the "TEF: Test d'évaluation de français" - upto additional 26 points If you did pretty well on the DELF B1 then you should definitely be able to prepare and do reasonably well on the TEF too (and get some good extra EE points!). I didn't prepare that much for the exam itself (I didn't...

Moving to BC for EE PNP good option?

Oh wow, sounds like BC PNP is actually though to get. Isn't the first item in the checklist pretty much the equivalent of a LMIA? Not to say that the job offer could act as a LMIA, but the company would have to explain why they hired you over a Canadian or PR, which is part of the LMIA process...

give the "TEF: Test d’évaluation de français" - upto additional 26 points

Re: give the "TEF: Test d'évaluation de français" - upto additional 26 points I took both the IELTS and the TEF last year in preparation for my CEC application (I had wrongly assumed I would have a better shot of obtaining my PR if I proved I could speak both English and French). Turns out in...

    750 points.

You're very concerned? Give us a break... you'll probably receive an ITA next draw.

    Applicants with scores between 450 - 600.

I loved that last comment, it is actually true! So much work for nothing... :P. Someone with a score close enough to 600 would need to have foreign work experience and 4+ years of Canadian work experience, but all people in that situation should already have PR status by this point in time...

How many points for NOC Code 2147(Computer Engineer)?

So you're telling us you've got a bachelor's degree and asking us if you should select bachelor's or master's degree for your EE profile? Well what do you think? A bachelor's degree will get you 128 points in the category "level of education" (150 is the max but that's for people with PhDs).

Lowest possible score for LMIA-holders is just 624

Oh man this means there are still quite a few draws to come before people with no LMIA start being selected. This sucks.

    Options for PGWP holders

If you're considering getting a LMIA I say play to your advantages when looking for a job. Do you have any particular skillset that most Canadians won't have? For example, if you speak several languages, try looking for job offers where they need people who speak those languages and you would...

Changing job to get LMIA !!!!

Bear in mind that a new company that is willing to get you a LMIA to hire you will still have to go through the normal LMIA process that supposedly takes between 2 and 4 months but has been reported to take longer than that.

shall I Invest $325 CAD to add 8 points ?? really confused !

I wouldn't do it if I were you, 8 points is not worth it... if you really want to increase your score even if a little bit then maybe do some studying and try taking the IELTS/CELPIP again.

    Police Certificate in 90 days???

So just to recap, first we need to receive an ITA and get a file number, and then we can send fingerprints and pictures to the Canadian Embassy or do we wait until CIC requests the Mexican police certificate from us?

    Police Certificate in 90 days???

Thanks Susana! I will have to go through this sooner or later too... to say this lifted a huge weight off my shoulders would be an understatement :D.

    Express Entry Without LMIA

Hi there, 1. Here's the definition of "arranged employment" as per CIC's express entry (basically, permanent job offer + LMIA = arranged employment): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=112&t=6 2. Any response to that question at this time would be just speculation, but as top...
