Toronto is quicker than Winnipeg, however your application is sent to the office nearest to your residence.

They probably gave the initial 5000 applications a quick scan, and are now reviewing them more closely and rejecting those that do not meet the criteria. Luckily they seem to be asking for additional application from those that just missed the cut, to get back up to 5000!

I haven't received anything yet, my app was received on the 3rd Jan at 8:21am.

I wonder if they are finally playing catchup, 6 Ceremonies in Winnipeg between January 15th - 29th, with 80 people per Ceremony thats 480 people in 2 weeks!! I really hope this is a good sign for people awaiting the test and ceremony

I have noticed that its not always updated on Tuesdays. I received updates regarding my Citizenship application on a Thursday and then 3 weeks later on a Friday. Updates appears to be very random (I was checking everyday this month due to my citizenship ceremony) I have not seen anything yet...

Thank you, I am not sure why it takes so long for the Winnipeg office. I have noticed there are many more Citizenship Ceremonies than normal this month, hopefully they have a full time Citizenship judge now and additional staff to assist with processing. Good luck with your application and...

Yes I agree, it would be too much work to ask for proof, and then verify it.

Some parents are here on Visa's and holidays. Like my parents, who were luckily here for Christmas signed the forms in Canada.

We assume they would have been checked for errors before taking the money. Having to refund the incorrectly completed applications would be quite an administrative task.
